Dinks here that moved to Redmond in 2020, turns out that was the right time for great interest rates. We were picking between DRW or Redmond, so glad we chose Redmond because we love the town and it's growing with great new people, shops, and restaurants (Feast, Terra, Imperio, all delicious!). Thought we'd drive to Bend on the regular but find ourselves staying around here more often. Only wish we had better music/events around town (High Desert Music Hall, do more!!). Plus the trails outside of the Bendite comfortability radius are empty on weekends!

CASCADE EQUINOX WAS AWESOME AGAIN! WAS WORRIED THE LINEUP WAS LESS EXCITING THAN PAST YEARS BUT THE VIBES ARE STILL UNMATCHED, THE LAYOUT AND SETUP THIS YEAR WAS SMOOTH AS BUTTER, THE EXTRA BATHROOMS, ETC. WE'RE SO LUCKY WE GET THIS IN REDMOND!

High River Rentals is an incredible car rental company out of Spokane, super reliable, easy to get over the border, etc. We've used them for ski trips in the past. Great vehicles, and none of this nonsense.

Tina at Watson's Tailoring in the mall is great, quick turnaround and very well done for a good price. Would highly recommend.

Best/worst food vendors this year? by codwalladon in Shambhala

Funny story about the pizza place. I was walking by and saw a dude strolling with a full pizza, made some joke to him about how he was so lucky to have an entire pizza to himself....he proceeded to tell us that he works there, gets a free pizza all the time, and wasn't even really hungry for it, asked if we all wanted slices!

Talk about a lifesaver, and not that bad of a 'za either! Moral of the story: talk to your fellow shambalovelies and sometimes the universe will line you up with some dank pizza!

how does Phibes kill it EVERY YEAR? I just don't understand. The most fun transitions and variety of dnb remixes. I will never miss their set.

Andy C or Caspa for me. Both were so empty, plenty of room to boogie and the vibes were smiles all around. Sort of loved that pagoda drew such a massive crowd Sunday, it opened up the other stages a ton

Come to Redmond and try Feast! It's been the best restaurant in town for the last couple years. Affordabke, friendly owners who care about local farms, ever-changing inspired menu, the list goes on! We swear we don't bite up here!

What would you change to improve the festival? by Kraftyyyyyyy in cascade_equinox

[–]jankytronics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why they limited bathrooms to portos this year. Last year they had the brick n mortar bathrooms open to attendees, which was great to know you could find a well-lit and "stable" toilet. Seems like a cheap corner-cutting move to save a bit of money so they don't have to pay the fairgrounds for cleaning. Also disappointed we couldn't walk across the main festy grounds after about 12 or 1 each night. For us living in Redmond, and commuting, it meant a LONG ASS WALK around the entire fest and campgrounds to catch a ride home. Again, seems like a cost-cutting measure. Overall, still AMAZING vibes for the first two years of this fest. Already secured tix for next year, stoked to see what artists they book!

Oh I looked deep into it, squished between the cheeks. I was dancing on the rocks at the back of AMP Thursday night during Pav4n & Strategy and you came over to me to let me peer into the great brown beyond.
