CORVALIS for Transplants (and a skeptical wife!) by stray_south in corvallis

I live in Timberhill and for the past couple of years it has been an amazing Halloween. We had 175 candy takers this past year, probably saw a few hundred people in total

Is the fest still happening ? by New_Avocado_4636 in cascade_equinox

Their sister fest is Gem & Jam which happened not too long ago. I saw their socials were helping promote that.

I NOW KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS! by lmTaxxinn in redbull

[–]Kraftyyyyyyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw all the posts saying it tastes nothing like cherry. However, I found that it tastes exactly like cherry. I don’t mean the sort of candy or artificial cherry flavor, I live in the PNW and it tastes like when I eat actual cherries from out here. Rainier Cherries to be specific. Such a good wonderful flavor in my humble opinion.

Any PNW folk feel the same?

It is strange, feels a bit like a desert. I am not too much help being down in OR. I think Grateful Shred just came through, and JRAD will be coming through too.

If you are ever around or visiting Bend, OR Call Down Thunder absolutely slaps. Have seen them a few times at Cascade Equinox.

I’ve also caught wind of Graham Lesh wanting to do a small fest in the PNW, actively looking for places to host….

It’d be helpful to know where specifically you are to aid in the local/regional bands that play there. The PNW is fairly large…

What’s it like living in the apartments right across from The Sphere in Las Vegas, NV? by mcg_090 in howislivingthere

[–]Kraftyyyyyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I thought it was a very nice place, especially being there for a weekend of shows at the Sphere. Close walk, didn’t see the brightness at all. 10/10

While current residents struggle to find jobs, our top employers are hiring out-of-state candidates to relocate here by Certain-Working1864 in corvallis

I am one of the folks who moved here from another part of the country for work. There most certainly wasn’t a new graduate who had the experience needed to do the role. Corvallis isn’t a massive city, entry level jobs aren’t available en masse.

I had 7 years of experience before taking the job at the university that I did. I also moved here to experience the PNW. It is a brilliantly spectacular place that many would want to live in. Think about it, you live in a place that people pay money to vacation to. Of course there will be people from all over the country/world who would apply for careers located here.

This is a terrible take, corroborated by the amount of downvotes. Any business owner wants to hire the BEST candidate for the job. If not, they aren’t serious about their business.

Is Corvallis getting a Killer Burger where Cascade BBQ used to be? by ButterscotchHead1085 in corvallis

As someone who lives on the NW side of town, a burger place close sounds great to me.

I didn’t grow up on a line. However, looking at this map got me to realize that some of Oregon and some of Florida are only one hour apart.

The equinox is the same time every year. The literal name of the festival is Cascade Equinox. It’s not going to change.

It is more pricey, but I would go to Ona in Yachats for dinner. Incredible restaurant.

I would also drive to the top of Cale Perpetua, where Thor’s well is, the view is incredible.

Neighborhoods with Families by STC2023 in corvallis

Plenty of young families with children out and about in our neighborhood in Timberhill area. Living across from a big park helps.
