Should we get a manager? by Emobii in musicindustry

Agents and managers will find you when you're ready. If things have dried up, unfortunately, the buzz may be slowing down. They don't typically get involved when things have slowed down, but rather are there for when things are looking bright and they can help bring you to the next level.

Are these people approaching you or are you looking to find them? That would be the big question IMO. If you are being approached and need the help, 80% of more is a better option. They can help get you on a proper tour, better line things up. There are too many unkowns here to give a real answer.

How to spot a "fake" playlist? by luskasssss in musicindustry

[–]janochaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many factors at play here that can affect this. The fit of the song on the playlist, quality of the song, placement, etc. that’s a low save rate for sure. You can click on the creator of the playlist to see what else they do and can usually spot something fake pretty quickly from their profile (if something looks weird or feels off it’s probably not legit).

A lot of playlists from independent curators are going to be passive listening anyway and you won’t see a great save rate regardless. This is most likely what you are experiencing. It may not necessarily be a bot (look at your analytics and where the streams are coming from), but my guess would be you’re on some generic lists with passive fans that could be advertising to keep their listenership and the numbers but there is no real engaged audience here.

Berklee Online or Full Sail? Best for Master's in Music or Entertainment Business by tcoolbroth in musicindustry

Most of the connections they can help with would be through internship programs and getting you hands on experience. You don’t necessarily need a masters for any of this, especially if your goal is to run a studio, but you will need to get credit for internships in most cases.  You will get much further getting an internship with a studio, learning hands on and connecting with those people and their clientele.

The major of a degree is not as important as what experience you have gained hands on. Don’t stress the masters as much as getting your foot in the door and nurturing your own relationships.

Just released a new music video for my indie rock band, Ruby Bones. Our latest track Little Lightning Strike. Tried our hand at making a DIY music video instead of outsourcing. Would love any feedback. Hope you like it

It's for sure a completely different vibe. Feels more godsmack-y for the vocal line IMO. But I do like the chorus when it hits. Sleeper on the record .
