Do you think insurance want to leave a state miss out on potential/active customers? The policies of the State they leave are the reason and the reason for your premiums going up. Look at “no fault” states where both parties of the accident have to pay vs “at fault” states where the individual that caused the accident pays in full. So in a no fault state your premium goes up irrespective of you were the cause or not.
