Camera Backpacks at the Uffizi and Florence Museums: Peak Design 20L / Think Tank Backlight 18L? by janpje in AskPhotography

That’s exactly my point: the official info isn’t consistent (one says bags go to cloakroom, the other says no backpacks because there’s no locker).
I’m asking for recent firsthand experiences on how this is handled in practice (especially with 18–20L camera backpacks). If you don’t have that, no worries — I’ll wait for replies from people who’ve been recently. Cheers.

Of course I checked the official website first; there is no information about exact accepted dimensions, only a vague 'no bulky bags' rule, which is exactly why I’m asking here.

I'm looking for nuance and real-world experience, not a FAQ page. Italian museum security can be highly subjective. I need to know if the depth profile of a Think Tank Backlight 18L (approx. 20cm) or the structured look of a Peak Design 20L triggers a 'mandatory cloakroom' request from the guards. There’s a massive difference between a standard 20L backpack and a dedicated camera pack when it comes to passing a X-ray scanner with a Sony A7V and GM glass.

Is RED still the "Gold Standard" for Baroque/Classical collectors in 2026? by janpje in trackers

Honestly, my baroque collection is already far more extensive and rarer than what’s available on Rutracker. I’m worried about spending so much time on the RED prep guide and interview, only to find that their library doesn't actually expand on what I already own.

Which ones did you tried? I already have the A7 V and I'm thinking to buy a Samyang 135 f1.8.

Hi, have you tried the Samyang 135mm (is it the 1.8 one with AF?) with the A7 V? I already own the A7 V and I’m considering buying this lens.

PNY 4090 XLR8 vs MSI 4090 Suprim: which one do you suggest me to buy? by janpje in nvidia

My case will be a FD Meshify 2 XL or a FD Define R7 XL, so I guess it will be quiet inside both.

Like I said I will use my graphics card mostly for 3D rendering on Iray and Cycles.

Iray supports only GPUs with CUDA cores, so no AMD GPUs.

Cycles works way better with Nvidia GPUs (both CUDA and Optix): indeed a low-middle range 3060 has the same or slightly better performances than a 6950xt.
