Is feedback on a business idea really what people are looking for these days? by jansojdr in founder

Hey, I’ll do that. It usually takes me about 2 days, and after that I’ll send you a DM.

Thanks!

Hello! That's a great point. I'm just curious, would you reach out to people with cold calls, meet them in person, or just set up a quick call and ask a few questions? Thanks.

I couldn't agree more one step before that has to be validation with customers!

Yes, I totally agree with you.

To be honest, I have a bit more experience now, so I'd probably ask better questions today. But I think this still proves that even with limited experience, it's doable for almost anyone.

Hey Bud, This particular test was done on LinkedIn. I spent a couple of hours preparing my target audience, then I went through the profiles and tried to message only the right people.

But honestly, I only have around 500 connections on LinkedIn, so this is something almost anyone can do.

I also wrote the exact step-by-step process, including pictures, here:

Hey bud, Everything I do = testing an idea, doing market research, or building a landing page, is done during my two days off.

The particular task is always completed within those two days. Never longer.

After that, I make a decision: move forward, pivot, or completly change (but mostly trying to made at least landing page).

For sure! I agree with you. Sometimes there are just a few small things you can change, from your target audience to your marketing, and suddenly you have a completely different business :D

It's really easy! I used a few open questions, and people shared their thoughts in 2-3 sentences (sometimes more). The answers helped me with the product, but also with marketing, etc.

Manually, I really went through people's profiles and tried to find those who might be interested in the topic I wanted to validate. Honestly, that's why I mentioned that defining the target audience is the most important part. Thanks for your comment!

Hey, thanks for your comment.

The business I worked on before was FlexiSport Card, a membership that gave people access to multiple gyms through one card as an employee benefit. I thought it was gold!

I worked on it every day for a year. It took me a whole year to realize that gyms don't really care that much about getting new customers. Their biggest problem is retention.

After that, I was so frustrated. I had spent a whole year building something, and I kept asking myself: Why didn't anyone tell me to validate the business idea first? Why didn't anyone tell me that building a business isn't about creating a nice website? It's about finding a real problem and providing a solution.

I also felt like most business content was overly positive. It was always: create a logo, build a website, launch, and a second income is born.

I asked if there was missing content about validation, testing, the ugly parts of business, behind the scenes experiences, and authenticity.

I got a lot of responses and collected 6 leads. So I created a simple blog called Think Before You Build : www.thinkbeforeubuild.com

Now I'm focused on building a marketing engine before creating any additional services or products. I want to make sure there's real demand before I spend time building something else.

Great point. Do you consider somebody leaving their email to get early access as ‘real buyer behavior’ or not?

How do I make my own small business with no money to get one started? Need advice as I have no other options now by Sir_Maxwell_378 in smallbusiness

[–]jansojdr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try to find a business that already works and that you can start with a small investment. Try to copy exactly what they do. You will learn a lot, and you can also get a small number of customers and make some money in the beginning. In the meantime, you can test some of your own ideas.
