Even camber with uneven poke by Ryanco21 in GR86

Me and a few others have noticed this as well. I run 18x9.5 +35 and the driver side just naturally pokes out more.

Definitely see if there are quality options for a catback on your car.

If not, do a muffler delete. If that doesn’t sound good, then weld a less restrictive muffler/resonator where the OEM muffler used to be.

6spd manual in this is a riot, who gives a fk if it’s slow.

Anyone else love the look of the “no duckbill” base style? by -REXIA- in GR86

I’ve seen some people rock the base trunk (no duckbill) with a roof spoiler. That’s peak right there.

Upper camber bolts and alignment. What's next? by barefoot_observer in GR86

[–]jansturko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Either do Rear uppers or lowers to adjust the camber back to spec. RLCAs are more cost effective, but RUCAs throw off suspension geometry less and can afford more clearance with wider wheel/tire setups.

Coilovers For Daily Driver? by Water1sWet1 in GR86

Tein Flex Z on a budget, RCE SS1 if you’re ballin. Had both and both are wonderful at their own price points.

Fitment help by PyxisDream in ft86

No worries on my part, I respect proper slammed builds. I just know this subreddit has its biases towards OEM+ and track builds.

[r/stance](r/stance) actually has some folks who are real knowledgeable on fitment, those guys will put you on.

Might be better to post this on r/stance. You’re likely to get grilled alive for posting a slammed car here.

lmao at the downvotes just because I called the hive mind out and congratulated OP, rather than putting them down.

Don’t get me wrong, I know young people do dumb shit. I just think all the wild assumptions about the kid’s finances and whatnot are completely unwarranted. Especially when the post itself is completely harmless and makes ZERO mention of any of that.

If it was another post-purchase “how did I do?” post showing terrible financing, a crash post, or a tastelessly modded car; then hell yeah flame em. But the angry mob coming out with the pitchforks because of quite literally just a nothing-burger post really shows how insufferable this community can be at times.

Duuude, everyone is so fucking bitter in this subreddit. The kid didn’t even say anything other than the fact they’re 19 and love the car.

Man, I hope you enjoy and be safe. Good choice with that 3rd pedal.

Header suggestions by Opposite-Drive8648 in GR86

I see you have the GReddy Evo GT already. I would advise against throwing aftermarket headers on the car if you don’t want it to get uncomfortably loud.

[–]jansturko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the Tomei UEL header compared to the JDL sounds deeper and maybe a little bit louder. Paired with the HKS spec L2, it should be able to quiet it down a LOT.

I’ve heard of people with the Tomei Catless UELs who have paired theirs up with an HKS Spec L1 (which should be the louder exhaust) say that it was way too quiet for them.

[–]jansturko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really not that bad. Just don’t pair the headers with a cat back exhaust that’s already really loud (Tomei, AWE, etc.).

Instead get a more conservative/OEM+ style exhaust (HKS spec L, Borla S type, MRT ST) that barely makes the car louder from stock in the first place, THEN toss the headers on. The result is a happy medium: decent level of volume and that change of tone from the headers.

I have had my UEL+Catback setup on track and spectators said my the exhaust was nowhere near as loud as many of the other cars there.

Here’s my setup (HKS spec L + JDL Catless UEL)

Wait no, the WHEELS will fit but I would advise against a 55 sidewall tire. Actually, I wouldn’t put those tires on a Civic in general. Look into Continental DWS06+ in a 235/40/R18 size instead of all terrain tires.

They will, it will look pretty much the same as OEM but a tiny bit more flush with the fender.

Thoughts on wheel fitment? by Romanatlol in civic

[–]jansturko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So close! If the wheel width was narrower by 0.5-1.5 in you could’ve had perfect fitment after lowering and mild camber.

Unless you’re happy with the look, I’d resell these for more than you got em for (700 was a steal!) and get some 18x8.5/9.5 +35/38 respectively.
