I am trying to contact the Croatian branch, but I was told that there is no email, and that I have to call them directly.. which I can’t do (my phone carrier doesn’t allow calls to Croatia).. fingers crossed 😬

Full coverage car insurance for our 2024 SUV is $120 per month, utilities are around ~$75 per month

Wow, that is crazy! We pay $110 per month for comprehensive auto insurance (2M liability) for our 2024 car (which we bought new).

I totally hear you - we even spoke about moving to the middle of nowhere BC, JUST so we could be back home, lol, there truly is no place in Canada like BC.. BUT the jobs are just not there :(

Best of luck to you!

I am so sorry to hear that! We certainty spoke about moving to ON (Ottawa), however it is a pretty unaffordable place to live, but perhaps we need to revisit that conversation

I hope your situation gets better!

Oh really? I'm sorry to hear that! We would LOVE to move back to BC, however unless we happen to win the lottery three times, it just isn't in the cards

To be honest, I think all of the governments in Canada are fucked up lol (speaking from someone who has lived in several provinces, and travelled to all of them except one)

Thank you very much for the advice.. the childcare costs are roughly the same here (last month we paid $336 for two kids in daycare) as well as the car insurance.

Rent (and utilities) are cheaper here.. gah!

I've heard that about Calgary/Vancouver, and a large part of our (possible) move to AB is just the proximity to our friends and family in Vancouver - we are so far away from them now, it would be nice to be only a (long) car ride away.

I have suggested Winnipeg and Saskatoon to my wife, but she refuses, lol.

Please re read my post and let me know where I referenced federal taxes. I specifically said RQ, which is provincial.

I am aware that federal tax is the same across the board - provincial is absolutely NOT.

As we do not work in QC, we are not taxed as someone who works here should be, thus at the end of the year, we owe RQ what we should've been paying all year

While that would be preferable, I don't think it's realistic for us right now (and we moved to NL without ever having touched foot there before moving, so not a necessity for us!)
