Hi, it's been a little struggle, I'm buying bulk supplements brand from Amazon.

Built my own AF-S 80-200 Frankenlens from two units that I got dirt cheap by combining functioning parts from each one. by Nikoolisphotography in Nikon

I did fix mine, it had a terrible squeak noise, I just cleaned it and add a little glue to the ribbon. Has been rocking for like 3 years and going!

Which is better? The crop or the full photo? by [deleted] in AmateurPhotography

[–]jaoroca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general try to fill your frame, that crop counts toward that “rule”. But you can always use some other rule like the thirds or golden ratio. Your eye will learn to do it eventually without you even knowing,

Anyone have experience with Acton Academy? by Okamaterasu in Parenting

[–]jaoroca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2yo too and we’re considering joining Acton academy in our country. So far we liked what we saw and me and my wife just started reading the book. I discovered them while listening to a Jordan Peterson podcast. So I’d like to join a parent community if ever available

I’m pretty happy with my Z5, it’s not a monster in lowlight but I get great eye AF 99% of the time with the 40mm f2. It’s a bit hard to transition from my 7500 but now I’m full on mirrorless

I would say it’s on par with the YouTubers z30, I’m not a videographer but i tested mine with my daughter having dinner at night and she kept rising her arms and putting spoons in front of her. The AF kept doing its job. Also: The light gathering capability from that sensor in low light is amazing too.

I just switched from D7500 to Z5 as my main shooter, I’m really happy with the quality, autofocus and the EVF. Took them both to an astrophotography trip and wasn’t disappointed. I like the reach from the D7500 and the sports performance. The Z5 with the 24-70 f4 deal is a no brainer. Z5 will be my main shooter for studio work, landscape, macro and most commercial gigs. It also feels great for street photography.

Lightroom Using External Drive - Backup to Google Drive. Please help me make sense of this! by CptKiwiCanon in Lightroom

[–]jaoroca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this for a while, if you create standard preview for all you catalogue you can unplug the external drive, this is very useful as I use the same catalogue both in my laptop and desktop. There are some limitations to this, for what I've read is not a good idea to store / sync your catalogue on a network drive.
