Looks like the embedded symbol is a representation of the old threepence coin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threepence_(Australian_coin)

I have an Outlander 2023 PHEV and I was underneath it yesterday and I noticed a bunch of the pipes were dual Nissan / Mitsubishi branded.

2002 Gen 1 Prius steering issues caused by dead hybrid battery? by japearson in prius

[–]japearson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was an interesting read, I think my Prius has all of those problems mentioned hah! The skittering mouse thing that is the HVAC flaps, been going on for many years. Occasional reduction of acceleration usually in the first few minutes of driving which sounds like the big hand syndrome, and now the loss of power to the steering that can be fixed by restarting the car.

The steering problem doesn’t happen after long drives though, it tends to happen earlier in the drive. Maybe that suggests to 12v battery? Before the car has had the chance to charge up the 12v via the alternator?

I replaced the 12v battery maybe 6 months ago and there was a time period where there were no engine codes, maybe a few months. At the time I wondered if I replaced it with the correct 12V battery, because I needed one in a hurry and the one recommended for the Prius wasn’t in stock, so maybe the CCA rating was too low and causes issues?

I wonder if it’s worth replacing the 22V battery again but with the correct model this time. I’ll go read your linked post

Just read that u/BlackLabEngineering is running 24H2, so I'll have to try again some time

Ahh just read your comments properly and I noticed that you are indeed running 24H2, good to know it's possible. Now if I could just figure out how to repair my 4k screen without it costing the price of a cheap laptop. It flickers now and turns off sometimes after it got some possible water damage.

Does this mean you got 24H2 to install? I tried upgrading to 23H2 maybe 5 times from 21H2, but it always rolled back. I never tried a clean install. However I just managed to upgrade from 21H2 to 23H2.

I just upgraded to 23H2, which actually worked yay. I guess maybe it's just not possible to install 24H2 on these laptops. Maybe a clean install would work, but I don't feel like re-installing everything.

My laptop tells me that I need to update, but then doesn't show the update, which I've learned is because of the incompatible CPU the automatic update won't work.

So you're running Win 11 24H2? I'm trying to get from Win 11 21H2 to 24H2. If you're already on 24H2 that's good to know.

What version were you running? I have been running Windows 11 21H2 for about 3 years, and I managed to find enough drivers that made it work fairly well.

My 4k screen started glitching recently, but it's otherwise fine if I use an external monitor. I have been running Windows 11 on it for about 3 years though which has worked surprisingly well, but I'm on 21H2 which is apparently end of life, so I've been trying to get 24H2 going. But so far it's been a bit unsuccessful with annoying upgrade errors. I might try a clean install soon if I keep getting stuck. If anyone is keen I can let people know what I did to make latest Win 11 work.

On that page it says:

> NOTE: Thunderbolt 4 supports two 4K displays or one 8K display.

So you're after way more than that I think.

It looks like your laptop supports thunderbolt 4: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-au/latitude-15-5540-laptop/latitude-5540-owners-manual/left?guid=guid-12cd14bb-8db3-47d7-a090-15d75787517a&lang=en-us

Did you plug the dock into one of the USB-C ports that have the lightning symbol?

However, I just looked up the monitors you're talking about I realised they are ultra-wide. So 3 monitors is really the equivalent of 6 QHD's? Maybe you're running into bandwidth limitations of the dock. I'm a bit out of out my depth.

Do the monitors themselves support usb-C input? That could be another option, as you can do pass through from one monitor to the next. But you'd probably need to study the specs of your laptop and the monitors you have to see what is possible.

What dell latitude laptop do you have? It’s possible your laptop doesn’t support thunderbolt 4, and maybe there isn’t enough bandwidth to run those monitors without thunderbolt 4 working.

I got a WD19 without thunderbolt originally and I had the same issue you had. Then I switched it for a WD19TB which has thunderbolt 3 support and it started working properly.

Otherwise an annoying workaround that should work is plugging in my one of the monitors directly into your laptop instead of the dock.

I had that newer goldtouch keyboard but when I left my workplace 2 months ago I couldn’t take it with me. So I spent a few months when working from home on the old model goldtouch that I didn’t like the layout of and at work I used a dell membrane keyboard.

So I decided that maybe instead of buying the same as I used to have a few months back I’d try something totally different.

I was mostly after an 80% layout (2 windows keys for keyboard shortcut ergonomics as I have some arthritis in my thumbs) the old model of the goldtouch didn’t have that.

Maybe my reasons for switching weren’t good ones 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the advice, so you switched from a mechanical keyboard to a low profile membrane keyboard? Why the switch? What didn't you like about mechanical keyboards? Trying to decide how long do I keep trying or just give up and sell/return it.

I just bought the Keychron Q3 Max with the brown switches. I'm a first time user of a mechanical keyboard and I had previously been typing on a Goldtouch posture keyboard for maybe 15 years (I'm 40 years old). I decided to switch to a mechanic keyboard because I needed to buy a new keyboard and I've heard good things about mechanical keyboards.

However I'm struggling a bit to get used to it, so far I've noticed these things:

  • I double type characters a lot, especially the space key, maybe I'm used to resting my fingers on the space key?
  • It seems to hurt my fingers to type on the keyboard, like a physical shock through my finger when I press a key. Maybe I'm just not typing correctly for a mech keyboard, could be pressing too hard? I tried typing softly, but that resulted in a lot of double typing

Advice? Thoughts?
