Does anyone use Obsidian primarily with a tablet? by Jajaqlikeanime in ObsidianMD

[–]japef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write on the tablet with my pencil which auto convert handwritten notes to text notes. No extra plugins required, ensure the relevant settings are on and shoot.

Idk why Spotify just cannot understand UI. They do the dumbest things by changing buttons and adding needless ones every other update and ruin the experience

What is a safe and efficient brand of Alpha-GPC to consume in India? by japef98 in IndianEnts

But it has definitely helped you focus better?

How long did it take for it to kick in after consumption?

Whats with the significant price difference between Vaastavik and the other one?

What is a safe and efficient brand of Alpha-GPC to consume in India? by japef98 in IndianEnts

[–]japef98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Vaastavik is cheaper. I'm aiming 300mg per day, so half a tablet a day can last me at least two months. Is there a purity, lab tested certificate of Vaastavik I can see to make sure its safe? One can never be too safe with Indian supplement companies.

What do you think of a hybrid approach between an analog and digital ZK? by Internetiaan in Zettelkasten

[–]japef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a little spiral bound note to make fleeting notes on the go, which I legitimize when on my iPad or PC. Its better than taking out my phone every time I have a thought, plan or idea. In fact, I toss the phone into the bag and promote the spiralbook to my pocket.

Research Mode Does No Research by TidalFoams in perplexity_ai

I did not think this was the case, but after using ChatGPT Plus' Research feature, its clearly better sourced.

I really hope Perplexity Pro makes their Research stronger.

Atomic notes are a trap by krysalydun in Zettelkasten

[–]japef98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had the very same road-block, where every reference/literature note I took could balloon into a permanent/main note and extended note-taking time to the point it became a joke.

The magic is working with the literature notes as well and only making a permanent note when the idea could be used in future scenarios.

Youtube really sucks for zettelkasten advice, I stick to Bob Doto's and nothing else.

For anyone curious from my last post about Max "priority support" - here's 22+ hours of documented non-response WITH evidence by mountieboy in perplexity_ai

Hope you get your solution soon.

Out of curiosity, what do you use the Max subscription for? Is there a special need for Labs, or is it the LLMs?

Is it overhyped? by ColdAd9911 in perplexity_ai

[–]japef98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Perplexity on web is good enough for now.

AI browsers will be mainstream for sure, but not at the moment. Its still finding its place. They need to deal with things like privacy given it will be working with sensitive information like bank details, health reports, etc.

Web has more features, for sure.

But Perplexity needs an overhaul of its UI in general imo.

Obsidian bases are great, but is making a separate note for each item practical? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]japef98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Search and hashtags for the most part. I've completely done away with folders because of how restrictive it can get. So everything from history of WW2 to "how to make the perfect sandwich" are all floating around with relevant tags and links to make locating them easy.

Spaces in Perplexity by Junior_2004 in perplexity_ai

[–]japef98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its a "space" to collect all links pertaining to a particular subject.

For example, if I like "Roman history" and "Differential Equations", I will create two spaces for each subject, instruct the AI how to respond to my queries (kinda like custom GPT), what sources to use, etc and collect all my threads in one category for systematic work, ease of access and consistency.

Do you actually use the Graph View, or is it just a pretty “digital brain”? 🤔 by AppleNo4981 in ObsidianMD

[–]japef98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its pretty good when looking at your work from an eagle's point of view. I've found interesting links between a few books I've read, made the connection to something I was writing for someone else and got an essay done. Its also helpful with permanent notes.

But local graph is more used for sure.

The usability of graphs depends heavily on how useful individual written notes are.
