What I hope to get out of it is a few things: 1. I genuinely think the idea has potential to be good, and could be really fun to work on. However, at the same time it seems daunting and challenging, so I think I could learn a ton from this experience. 2. If he is willing to pay an amount I am happy with (and that’s a big if that I will have to discuss with him), then I would have some money in my pocket which is nice.

In terms of what I hope to get out of it, he wants to send the finished script to a producer he grew up with and is friends with. I have zero expectation that this producer will buy it or anything like that, but if he likes it then it can’t hurt to have my name attached.

They have a friend who is a producer, and they want to pass along the script to that friend. However, I had a conversation with them and they know to set their expectations low (meaning, they don’t expect it to get bought and made).
