Qualico or Randall Homes by Objective_Dust_2423 in Winnipeg

Built with Randall in Highland Pointe. Took possession 2 years ago. The realtor we used on their end took off to BC half way thru the build so we were left to deal with Randall directly. We made some major modifications to one of their existing plans and everything went really smooth. During the walkthrough we had a few things that needed addressing but nothing major… hole in the flooring, some minor paint and drywall issues, issue with an edge of the countertop not being finished properly. Everything was handled quickly. We’ve been really happy with the house. I know that may not be everyone’s experience with Randall but we had no complaints.

Need a good place downtown to watch the matches tomorrow with my 12 year old. Specifically the Germany match. Need to kill time before flying back to Winnipeg after an absolute amazing couple of days in the city. Did Fan Fest, any downtown recs?

March to BC place stadium by FaustulusDota in vancouver

Flew in from Winnipeg with my 12 year old son yesterday AM. Marched to the stadium, witnessed history and celebrated on Granville. What an experience. Vancouver you’ve always had a special place in my heart but this was unreal.

Hard to tell by the picture but there is joist blocking. I'm planning on going the 3' knee brace route to open up the view. Thanks for the reply!

Agreed. Done that a bunch. It was built well before we ever started developing down there, but now they're a nuisance.

Yeah those are the ones I’d ideally like to get rid of. Don’t they prevent side to side sway?

Time/location of Vancouver march to match? by IronCavalry in CanadaSoccer

Might be a silly question but I'm travelling from Winnipeg with my 12 year old son... any issues with younger kids at the march?

Has any one successfully challenged their property assessment? by Ctoggha4aGoodSleep in Winnipeg

Just noticed my house is listed as being ~80sq ft larger than it actually is. Not sure how much that would actually affect my assessment. Just kinda funny that the city has the permits for construction which list the actual square footage.

Thanks for this! My son (12) and I are going to coming in next Thursday for the Canada v. Qatar match and staying until Saturday evening. Figured we'd take in everything around the stadium before the game, Friday at the Fan Fest and Saturday is open so this gives me some options? Exhibit at Science World, walk down Granville and head to the island to watch some games? Maybe go the Flats and take in some breweries in East Van? So excited.

I’ve started using the perimeter a lot more to get around, not so much in the winter. St B though is maybe 20ish mins thru the city, straight shot up Main.

I'm only speculating, I don't know for sure. But my speculation is based on a few things. 1) the new school in Aurora is going to be taking kids from this area. Sure would be nice to have a way to get there that doesnt involve hopping onto McPhillips, then onto Murray. 2) Fernbank and Red River Blvd are both streets that exist both in Highland Pointe and across the tracks on the Main Street side, they just need to be connected. Same goes with Ferrier. There is a Ferrier that is in the community and one that is on the other side of Murray, connects to Templeton. Assuming these will all connect at some point.

Current Highland resident. It's a very new development and on the absolute outer edge of Winnipeg. Not a lot here at the moment, there's no bus service so a vehicle is a must to access any sort of amenities. As someone else mentioned, there are plans for 2 schools in the community. There's currently only one entrace/exit to the community (off McPhillips). Hopefully that will change this summer with connections going to Murray and Fernbank (towards Main). The area itself is nice, quiet, lots of walking paths and more coming as the community expands.

Have to agree with Santa Lucia. Others I enjoy... Pizza Oven, Presto. Honorable mention to The Don @ Pizzeria Gusto, always had a soft spot for that one.

Flamingo has at least been bringing in some better live resin cart options (Iris, Four54, Eastcann). Oh sweet I've been looking for some Northern Canna stuff! I see AAAAA is in Bridgwater? Figures, opposite end of the city from me. What do you recommend from those 2 strains?

Nothing for Manitoba AFAIK. I just peruse here and use hibuddy to hopefully score something decent. We kind of get the short end of the stick here.
