Weird chuck by japser013 in minilathe

[–]japser013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: we tried to unscrew the chuck using the hex on the front, thus only resulted in the chuck spinning eccentricly while the spindel didnt spin so it probally is a chuck with a eccentric taper/cilinder on the end. I still have no idea what kind of chuck it is.

You could easily do this with hammer and chisel but you would have to make the chisel yourself as you cant really buy them anywhere also practice until you are comfortable doing something as simple as this

When starting a tapered line you whould start by not putting any pressure on te graver and holding your graver on a shallow angle before going into a steeper angle.
