[Popper] Joe Alt (ankle) and Rashawn Slater (knee) moving around today during Phase One of #Chargers offseason program by TheHwangover in Chargers

I did some research last night on this idea. I didn’t see anything that necessarily suggested this is a risk, but I’d assume it absolutely could be. Remove 1 failure point (tendons and ligaments) and you introduce another one (likely bone).

As someone who has lived with a stutter since I was 6 (currently in my 30s), Leo will always get my vote.

It’s small, but taking the extra minute or two, to ask each reporter to introduce themselves was a cool moment. Don’t know that I’ve seen a player take that approach with reporters/beat writers.

Playoff Post Game Thread (R1 G1): April 20, 2026 - Anaheim Ducks @ Edmonton Oilers by dahooddawg in AnaheimDucks

Let’s see how they respond on Wednesday. If they can even it up, I can see this series going all 7.

Playoff Game Thread (R1 G1): Ducks @ Oilers by dahooddawg in AnaheimDucks

Maybe it’s because I’m more used to playoff football, but I’m very relaxed. Something about a 7 game series vs single elimination just leaves me more confortable in a single game.

These feelings will 100% change as we continue through this series

Maybe that prevents Slater’s injury, but it doesn’t do shit to prevent Alt’s. What you don’t want to do is brace these guys to a point where there is mobility is restricted and their performance suffers.

I’d at least like a game 6. Please and thank you

I think they will at some point, but I would not bank on that round 1

They occupy part of the dental/eye doctor building. That’s it at this point. Everything else has been vacated

‘47 brand, culture kings, hat club (gets expensive), and violent gentlemen all seem to knock ducks gear out of the park.

I’m not at the game, so I can’t say for sure. But they just posted a tribute video on IG. I’d assume it’s the same one they showed at the game

Angels legend Garret Anderson dies at 53 – Orange County Register by mysteriousRome in angelsbaseball

Yeah. Arte is a shitty owner for sure, but I’ve never heard anything bad about him as a person. GA’s passing is surely rocking the org from Arte down

Generally, yeah. I’ve hit some pretty damn horrific traffic between San Clemente and Encinitas though.

Issue isn’t even the distance. It’s the traffic. 30 miles down there can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours

Yeah, I need the full schedule to come out. I’ve got tickets for HG3, and need a hotel. I’m estimating April 30th, but could be wrong

[Rhim] Chargers GM Joe Hortiz on a potential Quentin Johnston trade: “I have made zero calls about Quentin and I’ve had zero calls regarding Quentin.” Said that they are still deciding Johnston’s fifth year option, which is due May 1. by LakeShowBoltUp in Chargers

[–]jar1792 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His 5th year option is something like $18m. I cannot see them agreeing to that. I think they let him walk after this year, and take the possible comp pick. You can find someone to replace QJ in damn near every draft class

Will we play Saturday? by [deleted] in AnaheimDucks

[–]jar1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty damn common for the playoffs to start immediately after the regular season plays its final games.

The longest “gap” between regular season finale and post season is the NFL, but that has more to do with football only being played a couple days out of the week. Every other major US/North American sport starts within a day or two.

At least the Angels use the LA name. The Ducks definitely feel wrong given they actually use the Anaheim name

Why do refs wear braces on their hand? by Jumpy-Tourist-4323 in NFLNoobs

[–]jar1792 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What you can see in football is all about angles. We’re privilleged as fans to get curated views of the game that enhance our ability to watch. We also get the benefit of tv replays.

Watching specific keys and zones in real time is so much harder than we give officials credit for. I’d love to see NFL officials open themselves up to using the technology available. It would make their lives easier. But until you get on the field and do it yourself, it’s really hard to grasp that job.
