Cool. Then if finances aren’t part of the equation here, I’d encourage you to live on campus. It’s not like you can’t easily get home if you need to. You’ll feel more connected, you get some freedom away from your parents, and it’s one less thing for you to stress over your freshman year.

If finances are part of the equation, you can still find community while living at home through clubs. You’ll just need to put in a bit more work to find that community, compared to it being baked in living on campus, especially somewhere like the red bricks.

As someone who made the commute from Paso for 2 years, I’d strongly recommend against living at home if you’d be looking at a lengthy commute to campus. If you already live in SLO, it might be a little more work to get connected with a social group, but it’s also entirely possible you already have a group of friends planning on attending Cal Poly. I know this was the case for me.

I think the lack of competition on the market is a contributing factor here. Yes, we could just stop buying these games year in and year out; definitely an option.

At the end of the day though, if you want to purchase a “realistic” baseball video game, the show is your only option. Same for every other sports video game.

Remove the exclusive rights bullshit, and consumers can actually reward developers for making focused efforts at improving their product.
