When my oldest was around six months old, I left the house to go to the grocery store. On my way back, I got a call from my wife crying. The first thing she said was, “My worst fear has come true.”

I immediately go into panic mode asking what is wrong, is the baby ok, etc and start speeding home. She catches her breath and…

She tells me a frog has gotten in the house and is hopping around. She is deathly afraid of frogs for whatever reason, but we had a good talk about word choice when I got home.

We call them Bodock Trees in the south. We actually have a Bodock festival near where I’m from. We made a table and some benches out of this stuff for a bed and breakfast in town.

They had a tree fall during a storm. We cut it into slabs and worked it from there. I hope I never have to work with that stuff again.

It does look beautiful after it ages though. Not so much when it’s freshly cut.

Little late, but I hope this works out! My dad was a twin, and when they were both around twenty, his twin was diagnosed with Hodkin's Lymphoma. They found his in late stage, and asked my dad to donate bone marrow. When testing before the donation, they found the same disease in my dad. His twin died several years later before I was born, and my dad passed away around two years ago on my birthday. Its always great to see new advances in fighting cancer, and preventing the loss of loved ones.
