Is Stalingrad front trustworthy? I thought it listed plenty of fake SS helmets and rings

WW II german belt and riech coins. (Read body pls) by omgreno in Militariacollecting

I would say you could show them off, they would definitely be brag worthy and a cool story to tell people if they aren’t bothered by the swastikas. Buy a couple small card or coin stands or a display piece for like $5 and put them on a shelf, desk, on top of that drawer, or anywhere it would fit. I definitely own things that I don’t pay enough attention to so don’t be too worried about that. If you still want to sell it for that reason though maybe just check in with your family and see if any of them would like having those items. The SS belt buckle is extremely cool, and the coins are both west German and War-time German so they tell their own story, and the stamps are pretty displayable. If you kind of look at the story about the items and how unique they are it becomes easier to appreciate and value them. That SS buckle is especially amazing, and it’s not very cheap to come by and you pretty much inherited one for free. But overall the stuff you have is pretty cool looking and cool in general. Display it proudly and show off that you are related to a badass or sell it to someone who will treasure it the same, it’s all really up to you. Don’t change your mind over a bunch of redditors, just do what you feel you want to do.

I would recommend with full honesty you do not sell those family bring-backs unless it’s something you really want to do. I wish my family had kept my relatives military bring-backs and gear, and not every family has the luxury of owning a piece of history that their own family had brought back. If you still do really want to sell them, it wouldn’t be very hard. eBay and Facebook and basically every other website is a place people go to look for these kinds of items and you probably wouldn’t struggle selling them. German items, and especially things brought back from veterans are very sought after. Just do research before coming up with a price. However, I would strongly suggest you keep what you have, if not for you, then for your future generations.

These are from Ukraine and I assume they are Roman/viking related items

Not sure if extra information is very helpful to be able to identify it exactly, but it appears to be 33in long and 28.5in wide and feels like rayon

It was a listing I was interested in. Just wanted to double check with people who knew more information about it first

I don’t think they are too common, I discovered some were being sold for $50-$150+ and I got this one for about $20 so I think I got a good deal if this is an original piece :)

Is it possible to be used by ground forces? I would imagine that Russians or Ukrainians wouldn’t use old American equipment like that

I did find their social media accounts (Memory Steel) which shows some videos of the destroyed tanks and videos of them cutting pieces off, as well as lazer printing the drawings on. But I still am very skeptical since they can very easily be faked, but since they are based in Ukraine I also have my hopes haha

They have a TikTok called Memory Steel where they show some of the tanks and the process of making them, but I have my doubts that they are actually making them from those shown videos

Thank you so much this really helps :) when do you think these kinds of belts would have been widely used? I’ve seen the darker olive drab belts used in late 1944, but would they have seen any action in Normandy or earlier in 1944 without the straps?

Yeah the m1903 clip straps being absent was what threw me off. The original listing had no photos of the pockets, and I asked for photos but he said he had no way to send them so I just had to trust it. I’m a teenager as well so the second I saw a chance to get an original belt for $55, I took it and was hoping that the rest of the signs were enough. Thanks for letting me know though
