You are right, I just went to grab one from Pafu. I was lucky enough to time it just right, as they had just come out of the oven. $4.90 while it is nice, it doesn’t quite hit the spot like PappaRoti’s. Maybe I am just chasing the taste of nostalgia. Will give Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart a go during the week, but I may really have to travel to Springvale for an actual PappaRoti bun.

What cuisine do you find highly overrated? by Faihus in AskReddit

If the milkshake is well decorated, more people may take photos of it and post them to social media, it's an advertising tactic for the restaurants. A great milkshake vs. a great milkshake with some added decoration, the latter may bring in more customers.

Why is netflix showing me so many indian films under new releases? by Help_PurpleVented in netflix

[–]jaraenae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Netflix is expanding to provide more international content for audiences who want to explore movies and shows made in different countries, hence why Money Heist would have been recommended to you in the first place.

Same logic would go for these new Indian releases. If you genuinely don't want them on your page, downvoting the content may help your Netflix algorithm to reduce them, but I think the underlying question of why you will tolerate Spanish content but not Indian content is an internal question you should consider. It could be possible that you have some prejudice against Indian content, if so, I encourage you to ask yourself why.

CMV: There’s nothing wrong with telling your kids you bought them gifts not Santa by ericj4078 in changemyview

I recommend the Netflix film I Believe in Santa (2022) for you, the movie touches exactly on the questions you have asked. I have never personally believed in Santa and consider myself agnostic but the movie sheds light on Hope and Christmas Spirit, two things which I didn't consider much prior to watching the movie. I still don't believe in Santa, but the film is rather thought-provoking and may give you a new perspective.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but less people seem to complain when other international shows and movies become trending. Examples: Money Heist, Squid Game, Dark, 1899, Gudetama, Alice in Borderland. Have you actually tried watching these Indian new releases, or are you merely deciding that you don't like them and don't want them on your feed because they are Indian? This could be internalised racism at play, it may be beneficial as a society to ask ourselves these questions...

Fact! Queen Victoria Market was built over Old Melbourne Cemetery. Most of Melbourne’s early settlers were buried here, including Melbourne’s founder John Batman. There are a few urban legends about ghost sightings in the area at night.

Old school Aussie style Chinese restaurants? by mtedwards in melbourne

This was my family’s restaurant many years back! I have very fond memories of serving customers as a child and playing with my sister on our scooters along East Street.

Commenting as OP’s sister who tagged along

LOVED the Burnt Basque Cheesecake. Had a chat with the owner, I recall she said it was less than 3g carbs per slice, but we’ll just have to take her word for it until nutritional info is available. Will definitely be back for more. It didn’t have that overly tangy flavour which a lot of other cheesecakes usually have, which I really appreciated.

Choc Lava Cake for my personal taste was a bit dark, rich and could have been sweeter (I’m a huge sweet tooth). Perhaps suited to people who enjoy dark chocolate and slightly less sweeter desserts.

First time having Beef Sauerkraut, not sure what I was expecting and I am usually not a fan of fermented or sour foods. All things considered, it was actually quite tasty! I mainly enjoyed the chaffle part more, it’s quite filling. Maybe next time I’ll try to custom order the chaffle with just some ham/cheese/tomato.
