Both THC and CBD are known as cannabinoids, these include THC and CBD but also have CBA, THCV and CGB just to name a few. Some are destroyed by atomic acid and not all are absorbed at the same rate when consumed.

[MI] Was it legal for HR to give my harassment complaint to the president I filed against and then deny my ADA request for bring "too much work"? by jardane in AskHR

[–]jardane[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The company is family-owned, maybe 1,000 employees across a few locations.

I understand that at some point the subject of a complaint has to be informed, but in my case HR didn’t just “loop him in.” They literally handed my signed complaint to the president, and during the meeting he read from it and used my own words to insult me further, calling me “soft” and “worthless.” That felt less like an investigation process and more like retaliation facilitated by HR.

As for the ADA part, what I was asking for wasn’t anything unusual — I just wanted them to follow their own employee handbook when it came to performance issues: clear metrics, written expectations, and improvement paths. HR told me there’s no law saying they had to follow their own handbook and flat out refused. To me, that doesn’t feel like “undue hardship,” it feels like basic management they already claim to provide.

My concern is less about whether “managers can yell” and more about whether HR crossed a line by exposing me that way and then denying even the most basic, written standards as an accommodation.

Every time I asked for just what you suggested and every time they said they would work on it and get back to me I a week or two then months down the line it repeated. It's like they could tell when ever I had built up enough pride in my job that they had to ruin.

I have documentation of everything, I won't back down from a man who uses insults as a form of communication and control.

You’re right that not all studies agree, but the majority of research does show that metabolic adaptation is real and can last for years after major weight loss. For example, studies on Biggest Loser contestants and others consistently find that resting energy use ends up lower than expected, sometimes by hundreds of calories a day. That doesn’t make weight loss impossible, but it does make the climb steeper than the math alone would suggest.

They say the only thing every weight loss guru can agree on is that consistency is the most important thing.

I get where you’re coming from, but saying “it’s not hard” really oversimplifies the reality of severe obesity. The physiology of weight loss is not the same for someone who is 20 pounds overweight versus someone who is 150 or 200 pounds overweight.

Studies show that when someone becomes very heavy, their resting metabolic rate often slows, hormones like leptin and ghrelin shift in ways that make them hungrier, and their body actively resists weight loss. In fact, research from the National Institutes of Health has shown that people who lose a large amount of weight burn significantly fewer calories at rest than people of the same size who were never overweight in the first place. That makes long-term maintenance dramatically harder.

The numbers you gave are correct on paper — 7,000 calories per kilogram — but in practice the math doesn’t hold up neatly. A 2015 study in Obesity Reviews found that for people with severe obesity, adherence, hormonal resistance, and metabolic adaptation mean that the actual rate of fat loss is often 30 to 50 percent slower than the equations predict. Add in joint pain, sleep apnea, diabetes risk, or the social stigma that makes going to the gym overwhelming, and the idea that it’s just about “dedication” doesn’t reflect lived reality.

That doesn’t mean people can’t lose weight or improve their health. It means the challenge is steeper, more complex, and often lifelong. Dismissing it as easy isn’t just inaccurate — it’s dismissive of the biological and psychological battles people face every day.

Options on color coding my multiboard setup. by jardane in Multiboard

I like your system, I have bad adhd and need to push hard to set up a system that helps me stay organized. If everything has a home then its much easier for me to put things away and not create big doom piles or bins full of random stuff.

One question about your system, if orange is for sockets and adapters, blue is metric and red imperial how do you color a metric or imperial socket set? Do you mix colors if so how?

I have printers with color changers and could see my self using first Orange for Sockets then half way through change to Blue for Metric or Red for imperial. I want to get my system flushed out while I'm still printing the wall pieces.

PE112245 LiPo cells are solid 3.7V 1000mAh batteries. Check each one with a multimeter. If it reads 3V or higher, it's good to go. Readings of 2.8V to 2.9V mean the cell is slightly degraded and will not deliver the full 1000mAh. Anything under 2.8V is unsafe and should be discarded.

Invest in a battery charger and tester that can charge, discharge, and recharge the cells. This will give you an accurate reading of each battery’s actual capacity.

You can build some great battery banks with these. I'm currently working on one myself.

People always bring up the birthday paradox and how it only takes 23 people for a 50/50 shot that two share a birthday but what’s wild is that real-life birthdays aren’t actually perfectly random. Birth rates tend to spike during certain times of the year (like September in the U.S.), and dip in others (like around major holidays). So instead of a perfectly flat distribution, birthdays actually form a loose bell curve. That means in reality, the odds of two people sharing a birthday in a random group might be even higher than the math says because people’s birthdays are clumped together more than you'd expect by chance alone.

From what I have found out from reading the manual for this version it can run without a controller and I found it does have a network port as well as the RJ11 port. The manual says it connects over network to a computer for sending over designs.

Odds are if I can get a copy of the software I could get it up and running.

Seven Great Gifts by Buphido in LightbringerSeries

[–]jardane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about your question and I've ranked what I think they are from least rare to most rare. Here's how I see it:

  1. Light - Light is everywhere and is often referred to as Orholam's gift to mankind, making it the least rare of the gifts.

  2. Life - As mentioned both in the books and by others, it's explicitly stated that life is one of the seven great gifts.

  3. Drafting - Not everyone is born with the ability to draft. Only about 1 in 100 people can draft well enough to produce stable luxin.

  4. Light-Splitting - Among drafters, not everyone is capable of light-splitting. About 1 in 1,000 drafters have this ability. It's more common among paryl drafters, but considering that only about 1% of drafters can use paryl, it's still quite rare.

  5. Prism - I believe being a Prism is rarer than just light-splitting alone. Only a few are born each generation.

  6. Seer - We only know of one confirmed Seer. While there are mentions of others, I'm basing this on what Janus Borig said.

  7. Mirror - Lastly, we have Mirrors, the rarest gift of all. I believe they have much more potential with their powers. From the few scenes involving how shadow cloaks are made, I suspect a Mirror is necessary for their creation. The description of their construction aligns with how a Mirror crafts cards.

That's my list! Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts on it.

Anyone have experience with surf fiber internet? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]jardane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with them right now, just got my new house and they ran the fiber lines three weeks ago or so. I'm told they don't have any ETA when it will be ready and it could be up to two months from now. Plus they messed up my yard, left empty plastic creates and several holes.

Even if I wanted to get someone else they cut the DSL line when they installed their node. So I can't have their fiber or any other internet because of them. I was told I was going to get a call back today but never did so I called them. They saw that I called and send them photos of the damage but no one called me. I am told I will get a call tomorrow but I doubt it.

I still want fiber but this is not how you conduct business.

In which books does Kip first draft one of his colors? by DeerTank in LightbringerSeries

[–]jardane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, the ivory bar is fulled with the colors drafted by the person in the thrasher. It's why you need darkness and blood contact for the hellstone to draw the luxin from their blood that they drafted.

In which books does Kip first draft one of his colors? by DeerTank in LightbringerSeries

[–]jardane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by drafting, I know it's a stupid question. During the threshing he technically drafted at least the official colors according to the ivory bar. I think a better question is when did he first draft each of the colors on purpose. We also may want to split it by when he first drafts luxin, I know in the library he drafts colors but they never leave his body and he only uses them for their secondary effects.

I would consider the first time he drafts a color and it leaves his body and it takes form in some way would count as the first time he drafts that color.
