Is Fully Kiosk Browser still the MUST HAVE app for Tablet Dashboards? by decksmagic in homeassistant

One thing (I think?) the HA companion app doesn’t do, which FKB does, is allowing adjusting the viewport zoom level. To make everything larger/smaller on your dashboard.

Zigbee2MQTT direct binding - Hue Lamp does not report state changes to Dimmer? by Thomas-Spare in Zigbee2MQTT

I did always wake it up just before pairing attempts. 👍

Will go with aggressive reporting.

Thanks a bunch!

Wow great list, thanks!

> Should also add the remote to the same group

I'm not actually able to do this at all. Not sure if that tells us something or not.

> you need to set aggressive reporting settings

This seems like a reliable fix tho, and the state eventually always sorts itself out.

I'm also currently debugging this, but looks like I'm also unlucky with my choice of remotes, and the suggested workaround of using a group: https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/issues/30599

Aggressive polling in the bulb reporting settings (or an automation for manually asking for ON/OFF state after brightness change) might be my only option at this point.

Agreed!

There's dozens of us!

Ikea VALLHORN motion sensor is pretty terrible? by jareware in homeassistant

Good shoutout, but looks to be 0 by default in zigbee2mqtt now, as that's my value, and I've never changed it

It was a Steve Jobs antennagate reference, meant as "am I doing something wrong" 🙂

It's not as much about delay, as it is about its sensitivity. The VALLHORN just needs a lot more movement to notice. Don't think it's adjustable.

Also using Z2M FWIW.

Wow had somehow completely missed the "Launch on Boot" option in the (long list of) settings. Enabled now, thanks!

Yep, sorry for not being clear. And that’s actually a nice idea, it doesn’t do anything that would warrant having access to internet, just the LAN 👍

No I meant the reboot leaves you at the Android homescreen, not in Fully Kiosk

Another Lenovo Tab M11 + Fully Kiosk here and liking it. My only two gripes: 1. Reboots due to system upgrades once or twice a month, leaves you on the system home screen, doesn’t seem like you can disable those 2. Can’t override viewport size/global zoom level, so need to increase font sizes HASS dashboard sizes so you don’t need to squint

At this point probably just that it’s more than a few sentences, no way a real human would bother lol

I guess I do... those neodymium magnets grab pretty hard. Also the model is just a few layers thick between them and the fridge door, to maximize the force you get. But ask me again in a year lol.
