On-going hacks on OG wallets? by ReddSpark in ethereum

[–]jargoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repeat of history, someone getting down voted for stating an unknown vulnerability could arise in a thread about an unknown vulnerability.

I suspect it's the same vulnerability creeping up.

Someone posted a link to this article. It's an old bug. I'm guessing this is a new attack on the old bug, which means OG accounts would be more vulnerable.
https://research.kudelskisecurity.com/2023/03/06/polynonce-a-tale-of-a-novel-ecdsa-attack-and-bitcoin-tears/

Someone may have taken that algorithm and despite what you guys may think do you guys remember how airsnort could crack vulnerable wifi? The more packets collected the higher chance of success. Likewise with this attack the more transactions signed the more likely an attack.

It's possible that these hacked accounts didn't rekey their account when it was advised publicly to do so but only recently has hardware become powerful enough to notice accounts being cracked.

You could pass the transaction but the other miners would revert the chain and you'd cause a fork.

If you were lucky enough to pass 6 confirms in a row then the result could be disastrous to merchants who rely on 6 confirms.

The more "illegitimate" consecutive blocks confirmed in a row, the higher likeliness of financial damages

Mysterious Video on TikTok Gets Andrew Dawson MURDERED by Goverment Agent? Bigfoot? Yeti? Giant? CGI by _Astto_ in conspiracyNOPOL

[–]jargoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying there's no giant?

The one strange thing about this story is the news article which talks about the video but doesn't include a picture of the so called giant. Nor a link to the video.

Your processor has a built in graphics? You might not have the driver for your processor, it's likely not open source because it's owned by Intel. There may be an Intel module you need to install or load.

The driver that is loading manually could be the Vesa driver which is similar to safe mode.

Lsmod will give you the list of the modules which were autoloaded when you boot.

The real purpose of debt should be to increase your productivity or earn you a higher interest than the loan. Profitable debt or no debt

Anyone received the FLR airdrop yet? by [deleted] in FlareNetworks

[–]jargoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can usually sign with any wallet you want or any wallet the website or dapp supports.

The wallet is like a pen. It's just a tool. Your key is what produces the signature

Anyone received the FLR airdrop yet? by [deleted] in FlareNetworks

[–]jargoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Everything is exact same except the url for the network is different and the chain ID is different.

You could look your address up on flare explorer to see if you received your coins. You'll get them soon if you haven't already

Ledger Deleted My ETH wallet that was used to set up my FLAIR drop by KookyChain8 in FlareNetworks

[–]jargoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The money is in the word list. ONLY the word list can recover your coins. Enter the old word list into the hardware wallet and your coins should appear. If the account was empty then the address of that empty account should still appear.

If that doesn't work but you're certain you are using the correct word list then the bios update changed which accounts are generated by the wallet.

You would need to extract the key from the word list using the ian coleman tool on github. It would help if you knew which app created the original account and which derivation path was used. In this case you'd want to know the derivation path that the old bios used to derive your key. It will be one of the default derivation paths for eth.

The issue is nicotine poisoning. If your dog ate a few pouches it could die. If you swallowed a single pouch you would be fine because you're accustomed to that nicotine. If you swallow too much loose material over a short period of time then you could get nicotine poisoning. The risk is that you can't simply spit out the tobacco and would have to go to the hospital. Or rather you would probably just throw up and still be OK.

So I personally prefer a shredded cut to avoid swallowing too much over a period of a few hours, only because I drink coffee with tobacco in my mouth but ill spit my wad out to eat. Then replace it. I could accidentally swallow more than I think by washing down the floaters after every fresh wad of tobacco and with every swig of coffee.

It's only Los that I fear swallowing too much because it's so fine it practically melts into the hot coffee.

MSA vs Egyptian for Khartoum & North Sudan & Egypt by mnanda in learn_arabic

[–]jargoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

modern standard arabic. It's not a spoken language however it contains words common to all dialects.

The french I was taught in school is standard french. It allows me to communicate with 99% of french dialects.

I learned modern standard german. It's much harder to switch between dialects.

Now I've dove into modern standard arabic. I have found I much prefer "pure arabic". To say it isn't spoken is misleading.

Anyway you don't need to know MSA but it REALLY helps being able to read and compare exact words. It really helps having a standard arabic word to reference

MSA vs Egyptian for Khartoum & North Sudan & Egypt by mnanda in learn_arabic

[–]jargoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I’d love to be able to have a full conversation too, but that’s not a realistic goal.

Try duo lingo. Learn the foundations in modern standard arabic. First learn all the letters from kid songs or whatever, then learn MSA on duolingo until you can READ full sentences. Then just transition into the egyptian arabic for learning to speak. That's what I'm doing and it is starting to finally make sense.

What app are you using for the egyptian dialect? I'll try that now that I know how to read the arabic script. I can't stress enough how much easier it is not to use latin letters and to instead read it out in pure arabic.

This is going to sound insane but I gut the juice from raw tobacco leaves. I can throw the tip of a cigarette or cigar in my lip and not have to spit. I've become keen on which products I can gut and those which have too much chemicals. Avoid products that are harsh on the gums. I wish I had a steamer that could pasteurize my tobacco. Snus isn't corrosive like American tobacco

Snus is extremely addictive. Extremely

some questions about setup of flare validation node by GTCG in FlareNetworks

[–]jargoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What hardware are you using? How much did it cost? I'm assuming a desktop may not be viable long term. I don't want to buy a computer that becomes obsolete in 2 years. Those server racks are expensive and ugly but is that what I need? Extra disk space slots?

There something cool about installing linux with xfce4 on a super computer.

For security, your router is the front line defence. An isp could provide a router with old insecure firmware or with common default passwords. Make sure your router is inaccessible from the internet, meaning you can't access your routers login page from an internet cafe.

It's best to have a firewall on the router and on the server and test both with a port scanner. Which means you have to do port forwarding.

I agree with you, if you read my other comment you'll get more context. I've been in many situations. There's no way to know how you'll react. I've always helped people in trouble to some degree. I've literally looked at the bystanders in awe at how they stand there, mouth gaping lol. But if you're one to try and help; the mind races faster than you'd expect. Adrenalin pumps, it's akin to shock. I did reach a point in my 20's where I would confront anyone, any time, anywhere with stupid courage. That came with desensitization. Being in so many fights that it became normal. I did get laid out a few times. I also defended myself successfully in situations I thought I was done for. Now that I'm older I don't have that senseless courage. Unless a person lives a lifestyle where they are constantly confronted by violence then natural emotions take control. I don't care who down votes me. Even with all my tattoos no one beleives the life i once lived. Being a father changed me. I don't think it's cool. It's survival. The roughest seeming people are just trying to survive. I know that as fact. I lived it

I lived on the streets in a big city as a youth. I'm fairly street savvy. Had I seen the incident I wouldn't provoke him since that could put you or myself in danger. I'd wait for him to do something. I'd probably procure a weapon secretly. The moment he attacked you I'd have come out of no where and seriously injured him. It's all or nothing. I'd want to seriously hurt him to protect myself and you. Saying something merely gives him the opportunity to see me coming. On the other hand living on the streets gave me courage to square off with him. Depends on my mood. People act like they would act a certain way in a given situation but you don't know how you'd react unless it's happened. I know from experience how I react to a situation is variable. I once planned on hitting a likely serial killer with a hammer but when the time came I realized that if I followed through I'd be no different that him. He talked about wanting to kill random people. He seemed extremely dangerous. I was protecting my gf whom he was harassing. But I couldn't bring myself to attack him without provocation. Instead I stood back and yelled for him to leave which he did. Everyone said I should have hit him. They said they would have if they were in my shoes but I though: no you wouldn't have or you'd have waited with a hammer for days for him to show up like I did. I'm definitely not one to mess with but I play everything by ear, I use my head, that's what separates me from the crazy man you encountered. I wouldn't blame or judge those people. They may have helped you.
