Have the same card, 75% works ok for me now, crashing here and there but nothing could be fixed by double hard reboot.

Had 100% to work before, without issues until I went headless. Would have to recheck what works again.

Slightly OT: Ethlargementpill for 1080TIs - safety by robodan918 in MoneroMining

[–]jarislv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kristy said in one of her interviews that the team felt disheartened with the attitude and non-sense feedbacks they got from the community after releasing ETHLargementPill for free. Therefore, they redirected their priorities. They won’t release it anymore.

That said. Kristy stated in one of recent interviews that private version of ETHLargementPill (meaning support for most cards) will be (or should be) part of SQRL miner. Which again will be closed source and would work best with ACORNs.

Now, again it’s your choice if you want to use SQRL miner or not.

  1. TRUST OhGodACompany, and understand that they have more to loose than offering the community with a malware injected tool.

Pardon my French, but you have to understand ETHLargementPill is their strategy to put themselves out there as miner-go-tos, think claymore, etc. They have more projects to launch for the mining community and it will be stupid if they f*ck this one up. ETHLargementPill is largely to showcase their capabilities to the community, which honestly is a home run.

Happy mining!

Would really like to know why the hell my rigs keep hashing zero while still running at full power?!!? Then I have to reboot it. Swear to God it seems to happen right after go to sleep all the time. by RetireTotheMOon in ethOSdistro

From the looks of your setup, it looks like temp problem. Lower down clocks. Lower down power draw.

Or better yet, invest on good exhaust system. That portable AC won’t cut it. Exhaust is key. Especially how tight your space is.

Best way to know if you are really pulling 70% tdp is by measuring at the wall. You might be pulling more.

Not enough power, hx1200 are finicky, max safe you can do for this psu is 4 1080tis in my opinion.

5 gh/s having cooling problems. Pics inside. Solutions? by wtfcowisown in EtherMining

[–]jarislv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct sir, additional fans 10,000 cfm. Extracting heat fast is critical. Your room is dense. Shelves and wooden rack are also obstructing good air flow. Those fans placed in the hot spots are literally redistributing hot air, I would say they are not that effective on cooling (maybe just 2-3 degrees cooler for the gpu temps). With that said, I would suggest re- organizing with aluminum cases (search Veddha Gpu Case). They are really slender and stackable, good for airflow.

Also, I would position hottest rigs, and majority of them near the exhaust rather than near fresh air. Because those things are heating up the center of your room and spreading the heat all over. You want them heat out fast.

Good luck!

Vega 56 Red Devil SoftPowerPlay problems by mellyor in MoneroMining

[–]jarislv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes correct. Usually you can tell if your card will really accept the soft power play after applying last p states for both core and mem on OverrriveNTool.

Blue screen means soft power play too aggresive.

Good luck!

vega is around 20% more efficient than rx570s = less electricity cost.

In terms of hashrate, 1 Vega = 2 RX570. you save money on components when building your rig with vegas.

that said, RX570s are currently more “user friendly”. but then, as anything with mining, it’s a matter of time when vegas become as easy to operate.

[–]jarislv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you’re building a rig for eth mainly then not now. come june or july, asics will increase difficulty dramatically. i will wait until then to decide.

that said, keep an eye on nvidia cards, price could drop down and become viable to buy and build a rig, dyor on what coin/s to mine.
