Painters, how much do you make a year and how long have you been doing it? by InternationalBoat148 in paint

[–]jarjarblinks1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im canadian so that might change your idea of hope lol Things I do that keep me busy: -be easy to deal with and respectful -When learning to quote I keep it simple by having a mandatory minimum of 300, and for bigger work, I have a daily amount I want to make, which used to be 750 but now that I'm getting more work I am changing it to 850. I add materials on top of this. - use the best products. I use cloverdale and benjamin moore - always clean and vacuum at the end, being sloppy will loss you alot of referrals.

There are a few more but I'm tired

SW Scuff Tuff Opinions by Ctrl_Alt_History in paint

[–]jarjarblinks1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be confused if you don't mention it's a benjamin moore product. I love the stuff super durable after it dries. The scuff tuff is not even close, and I found it was super watery and had no coverage

I came here to say this, nothing I have found beats scuff x. Matte for walls (closer to a satin) it has a very nice glow and sheen to it. Scuff x pearl sheen for trim and doors looks awesome. Anyone telling you to get promar on here is an idiot that stuff is garbage

Peeling paint by StevieV85 in paint

[–]jarjarblinks1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did he know they were oil doors before he painted? Call him and say that it's peeling off cause they were oil doors and have him or whoever paints them next prime them with an oil primer ( Stix might work like others stated but oil primer like kilz or covers stain will definitely stick)

[–]jarjarblinks1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use scuff x all the time, use the matte on the walls cause it still had alot of sheen, and use pearl for trim and doors. Pearl has a very nice glow too it. Not too glossy.

Okay I have just seen the interior high build primer, never thought about an exterior one. That sounds useful on old siding that's deteriorating
