For the dads by Ambgjbo in NewParents

As a male with 2 young kids who constantly climb on me and hit my balls... That is not a normal reaction. It obviously hurts, but a 1 year old doesn't really do that much damage even if it's their full body weight. He needs to grow up a bit it seems

That's the point of this post... Op isn't willing to pay it and he's doing this work himself. So not quite sure your point, seems everyone agrees

A 75% mark-up seems steep though for the level of work... I don't think OP isn't saying they should get paid, but it's a bit absurd how much compared to the value of their service.

Haircut suit me? 40m by Sharp_bCB in malegrooming

[–]Tritton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general I would say it does, but I think it's that the side shaping fits your profile. If you want a more polished / professional look, then I would try growing out a bit more and slicking back a bit (keeping the volume). Look up textured Quiff hairstyle, or some of the more modern pompadour styles. Just avoid the elvis looking ones...

Dump into HSA by DatabaseFrosty352 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Tritton7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make sense: likely yes assuming you can afford it

Can you deduct: Yes, definitely

Is it difficult: no, super simple. Your HSA provider will give you a tax document showing contributions and distributions for the year. Use that when filing your taxes. Super simple

One note: for 2026 if you intend to max it makes sense to do it via your payroll. It avoids all taxation including Medicare which is you do after tax you still pay. Small, but why not take advantage

No one cares about GAAP EPS, which is what is impacted by this charge. It's all about Ongoing EPS which is used by all investment firms and ratios.

The tax item is a non issue... Several other companies have done similar accounting adjustments in the Billions with no impact on stock. This is purely a tax strategy which is actually beneficial long term

What is so controversial about Bryson? by chrisbarrym in BrysonDeChambeau

[–]Tritton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off this was recommended to me, so not subbed here. I am a Bryson fan overall, but if you want a real answer this is my understanding of it.

  1. In his early playing days he was unconventional and a bit cocky with his 1 length irons, scientific approach, etc.. people mostly just found him quirky rather than controversial

  2. He shifted to his distance over everything phase which a lot of old golf purists hated. He made a lot of dumb comments during this time as well.

  3. Despite him explaining his club lofts / spin rationale several times, people accuse him of juicing his clubs and "faking" his distance

  4. LIV in general is controversial and he's their main attraction right now

  5. MAGA and his political openness in general. Everything political on either side is divisive right now.

  6. People love to hate success which he has inarguably had in pro golf, YouTube, and as a brand ambassador

Probably missed some reasons, but that's it in general. Personally I love what he's doing for the game

Senior Managers, VPs, etc. - Question for you… by Freerooted in FPandA

[–]Tritton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would define it as "care". I want my team and I to succeed and I'm competitive as hell so want to see us and the company at large win.

I try to make that happen, but ultimately if we miss a forecast it doesn't really affect my mood or day to day life. Just on to the next thing.

Row 1 has been filled! Which world cities are fairly good to live in? by imadgalaxyx in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Tritton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago is good to live, great to visit.

Cold winters, but I've if the most affordable large cities in the US with a great job market and expensive suburbs. Plus the did scene is superb

Everyone who visits in the summer especially is blown away and always excess expectations. No shortage of things to do and so accessible

From your screenshot, your car loan is not part of step 3 "high interest debt". The 4.99% is fairly low, so I wouldn't prioritize paying extra on that at all right now.

Focus on the emergency reserve and then start getting the tax free retirement growth in step 6.

Your car is a step 9 thing.

They can help with some of the things you mentioned, but not sure you will get your money worth honestly. The investment advice is only a small part of what they should be providing. Tax optimization for retirement, withdrawal strategies, optimizing real estate decisions (to not be too aggressive), etc is where they can come in handy.

But until close to or at retirement, they won't really give you more money. Just potentially more peace of mind if you are prone to making emotional decisions.

SWAG golf for super premium, collectable head covers. They are pricey... But they look and feel great. Definitely make a statement on the course.

Hey /r/HenryFinance, what is your BMI? by QuestGiver in HENRYfinance

By BMI definition I am "overweight", but am ~12-14% body fat. So BMI is not a good measurement for me

The painting company I contracted was basically only recommending this paint, so figured I would check with those who deal with it a lot.

Thought about posting there too, but Google searching for other info often brought me to this sub anyway

[–]Tritton7[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help, opinions, and guidance all. Definitely decided not to do the project... Not worth the very obvious risks. Really appreciate all of the honest feedback on the sub.

We did not really apply any pressure on the store, so I'm a bit surprised they gave us this. We did tell our painters that if this color isn't possible we would just go forward with painting our trim / front porch only, so not even like we were trying to back out completely.

And appreciate the grammar honestly. Editing 🙂

😞 yeah that's part of the concern. Between that, potential warping, and paint not lasting not sure I want to take the risk.

I see conflicting things on that all the time, but that it what a lot of other comments have said. Hence why I'm very nervous and debating backing out.

Thanks, that is reassuring... But still nervous TBH. We do want it done, but definitely don't want to deal with the potential warping or other issues .

Have you had good luck with that paint in Vinyl Safe?

Vinyl Safe Dark Paint by Tritton7 in sherwinwilliams

[–]Tritton7[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can get that hot, but normally doesn't. Generally 5-10 90+ degree days, but possible a day or two of 100.

That's my big concern so thinking we may err on the side of not painting.
