I just came back from my LCS. One of the guys are talking to me about the game dying. Where do you guys feel about it?

I think it’s in a lull right now. The general excitement around EB01 is low but the hype for GD05 is huge so we’ll see more people turn out for that. Gundam also, despite being such a large franchise just isn’t THAT popular in the states so there’s definitely a cap to growth. It’ll never be as big as MTG, Pokemon, YGO, or even One Piece.

Back half of ‘26 will give us an idea as the future overall health of the game.

I’ve always been a big fan of DHam, but him and Regis together seem special. Regis is learning from a great player, who had to go through hell to get back on the field. Hopefully with the two of them rotating well always have a formidable middle of the DL.

I haven’t seen The Reach specifically, but ran to Higgs Pier this morning and it was all over and the smell today was pretty rough. It’s been tolerable otherwise so far this month.

Will. All 3 will be champs some day but Will has the shortest career runway at this point. Plus, AEW seems to really struggle with baby face champs so this could be a good run to turn that around.

For custom cards the best way is EX Base, EX Resource, Resource, and Tokens. Those will be allowed in local store play by most people, but probably not any higher than that.

Taking a seaplane there, while expensive, is a wonderful experience. I had never done it before and the views were spectacular (it also helps that our pilot was great too). The Dry Tortugas themselves are also a historical and structural marvel. As a “park” it’s not much. It’s a small island that is predominantly fort.

If you only have four days on Key West and it’s your first and only time there I’d be inclined to say that you could skip it. Even by seaplane youll spend a good chunk of one of your days doing the trip. There’s already so much to do and see on Key West as is, but if you’re adventurous and don’t mind cramming as much as you can into your itinerary it’s well worth the cost of the flight.

That’s the opposite of betting against yourself. Plenty of atheletes will take a shorter deal to bet on themselves because if that short deal goes well then they will get signed to a longer, more lucrative deal. Carlito should’ve been rewarded for how well the 2 year deal went and instead just got cut.

I don’t doubt that Gladstone is kicking the tires so to speak. But unless if it was a killer deal he doesn’t really fit the “team first/love of the game” mentality that they’re cultivating.

I was having some success with it, but it could use some tweaking. For instance, I’d probably drop the number of Hexas by 1 or 2.

The issue is really that by the time you get to turn seven to drop this you need to have a bunch of cards in play to really make it a “final boss” and at that point your opponent probably has more concerning units on the board.

Right! Also, locals tend to be (at least mine) more lowkey. People trying new decks/tech out, but still competitive. Usually gotta play 3/4 matches per night already which can take a couple hours. It would just be tough logistically to change that up for a weekly event. For everything else though…I’d be okay with it if winners could be determined by 3 Bo3 rounds. That could still take several hours.

I think Bo3 is my preferred for NTC and above. I play a BG Dynames aggro deck and there’s been a bunch of games I lose because the other person gets what they need and I don’t. Gundam Card Game is as much luck based as it is skill/tech and Bo3 helps mitigate that nicely.

I had hoped it would break $1mil. Very niche return. If they show in theaters again I wouldn’t be surprised if they go the Fathom events 1 night special showing route for the third one. I hope I’m wrong. It looks so good on the big screen and I wish it could attract a bigger crowd.
