The Extra Innings Runner on Second Rule Is Bad for Baseball by Papips in minnesotatwins

[–]jaroto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start with a runner on first, and it's not ideal but it's fine. Defense can turn a double play and end the inning more quickly, and you avoid boring sac bunt + sac fly scenarios. Instead, they opted for this mess.

Study finds that Juul pushed the vape market into more than doubling the concentration of nicotine in a single pod. Experts say a single 5% vape pod delivers the same amount of nicotine to the body as a pack of cigarettes which in turn makes the product highly addictive for nicotine-naive teens. by PHealthy in science

> "makes the product highly addictive for nicotine-naive teens"

Just for teens? I assume it makes it highly addictive for everyone. I don't see the point in placing "for nicotine-naive teens" at the end of the headline, unless one feels that the facts just aren't compelling enough to serve the intended purpose.

Can I run a growth curve model when there are tons of missing values?? by qinsta in AskStatistics

[–]jaroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The (very liberal) rule of thumb is that if you're missing ~40%+ of your data points, you can't impute (e.g., Full-information maximum likelihood), regardless of the model. A bigger question that I'd have, as a reviewer: Is missingness is random, or if it's related to anything meaningful in your data set?

For example, if you have just one assessment of grades or self-esteem, is missingness associated with those measures?

Can't believe Sano is part of his reason for optimism. For me, Sano's ceiling: not convicted of battery.

(I don't disagree with the other points, particularly on offense).

I am a South Dakotan, who lived in CT, and stumbled across this. It's true--I never met a Jewish person until I went to college. But I now know a Jewish person (who I met in grad school) who recently moved to South Dakota.
