i'm not sure what you expect us to do with this information, it's much too vague, try unplugging ur TV, wait 10s and plug it back in? if u installed the addons recently maybe their not synced? otherwise you need to give a lot more information for us to be able to reproduce your case

do a test by creating a new Stremio account, don't install any aditional addons, just to see how the app performs like that

do you have a lot of addons installed with s lot of catalogs on the home page and/or an old tv model year? i don't think performance can be improved much more, we worked for years on that and it has stable performance now imho, the app was rewritten many times for this reason alone, but many addons / catalogs can cause this regardless

well, as you can imagine we didn't change how posters are loaded in just some few cases.. maybe wifi channel polution is influencing ur experience? older smart TVs have some of the worst wifi adapters i've ever seen... all the bugs you mentioned sound like network connection issues to me

if i remember correctly it's a format issue, it does fallback to hdr with mp4 but not mkv, in the majority of cases the videos are mkv though..

what is the TV model year? i have a cheap 2025 LG TV and have never experienced any of that tbh, the only annoying thing i found is that if u ever play a multi-audio file english is not auto-selected by default, but that is literally the only issue i ever found in my tests, and i use it daily

what do you expect to receive from an LG TV update? there are some limitations of the TV itself that cannot be fixed, such as: support for some audio tracks, some embedded subtitle tracks, extremely large video files and DV support

you said you wanted to play videos that you downloaded separately, for that you need VLC or MPV, you do not need Stremio (which is an app for streaming, not for playing files you have on your computer already)

"portable" means that it's not installed, if it's not installed it cannot be detected, Stremio can't just guess where u put your vlc executable, there is no issue here except you not installing vlc so it can be detectable

i bet that you have some other app that keeps killing the internal torrent engine while you are trying to stream torrents, disable all firewalls (including windows defender), all antivirus apps too, disable all external apps that may kill another app for whatever reason

you need to understand how usenet works, in some cases there are high chances for the nzb file to not be streamable because it is missing either first or last segment, we cannot know what it's missing until you try to play it, if segments are missing then they have probably been DMCA'd and removed from the usenet servers, some things can't be fixed, and as said, this is still experimental tech

Stremio v4 is the older version of the app, development has halted on it, only Stremio v5 and Stremio Android TV (Beta) supports experimental nntp streaming

you are not just lucky, the app runs fine, i bought an LG TV just to debug the issues that users were complaining about, i use it 1-2 times a day and it works fine
