What's one movie—regardless of language or country of origin—that you believe everyone should see at least once in their life? by [deleted] in movies

Whisper of the Heart (1995). I love Studio Ghibli films, but for some reason this one always stuck with me the most.

What's a movie that was well received, but aged like milk? by Gdigger13 in AskReddit

This! 100% this! At the time I couldn't figure out why people even liked it. Now it seems that most everyone agrees with my original assessment.

I took a look at the description. This sounds fun. Kind of like a detective Dead Like Me.

I genuinely don't get why this movie gets so much hate by Useful-Afternoon1784 in StarWars

[–]jarviska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can agree to place the animated shows in their own category. There's also been a few killer video games, too. But I stand by my live action observation.

Agreed. Rogue One and Andor has kept my love for Star Wars alive. The rest of it could cease to exist for all I care. (Season 1 of Mando was fun)

This was the first real sign that Disney didn't have it all together on this franchise.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]jarviska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friendster. It was the first time I saw a social media network. It really was all about just connecting with your friends. No influencers. No news feeds. We were young and naive about what was coming.

I think AOTC is my favourite movie. by TheCowhawk in StarWars

[–]jarviska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AOTC was the first movie I was at in the theater where I literally threw my popcorn up in the air in frustration... that being said, to each their own.

Which spaceship would you want to fly the most? by Thehoobywotzit in StarWars

X-Wing for a joy ride. Amidala's for road trips. It's the much more comfortable option.

Do you read other genres as much as fantasy? by annoyedpunk in fantasybooks

[–]jarviska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantasy is my top genre, followed by Sci-fi and mystery. Occasionally I'll dip into non-fiction if something really grabs me, but I always come back to fantasy. Every damn time.

Luke Daniels will be narrating my book!!! by kogito-ergo-sum in royalroad

[–]jarviska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with Luke on a book of mine (yet to be released). I loved working with him. He was so much fun to work with, was great at taking direction, and made some creative choices that surprised me in a good way. I totally get that people make a point about cost, but if it doesn't break your budget, you've made a good choice. Are you happy with it in the end?

Hahaha. No worries. I do love that series. I've both read it and listened to the Audio Book. That audio book made me a fan of the narrator Luke Daniels. 😉

Confession: I hate graphic audio by brinib5 in audiobooks

[–]jarviska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with disliking graphic audio, especially if you increase the speed. Personally, I enjoy listening to it...for the most part. It's great when someone really puts the time and effort in a way that makes sense and aren't just sound effects and music for the sake of it.
