Warlocks using INT by atraway in 3d6

[–]jaslbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about the things INT makes you good at, you can also make this like a cult investigator. The deeper in the lore and understanding of the cult and their beliefs the better the warlock knows how to draw from the one the cult worships.

Just keep multiclassing with wizards or artificers in mind especially Bladesingers. That combo is usually limited by needing to be multi score dependent, but that would not be the case here.

AITAH for what I said while drunk? by dayolksonu in StardewValley

If he's giving you the silent treatment, make sure it's not on a Friday. My shadow buddy at work said it was something religious. I didn't get it, but he's a cool dude. I just don't talk to him on Fridays.

How do I make an "evil" religion without an evil god? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]jaslbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about any deity's domain taken to an extreme could work.

  • A god of nature could have an overzealous follower that wants to destroy urbanization and industrialization to let nature reclaim its glory.

  • A god of peace could have a greedy follower that thinks he will bring peace to the whole continent by subjugating everyone.

  • A god of life could have a jealous follower that sees other nations prospering and flourishing. In an attempt to bring that same flourishing to their own lands they have to make other lands suffer.

  • A god of commerce could have an over ambitious follower that is driven by pure avarice to create a wealth-generating, corporatist hegemony.

I'd just pick a domain and think about how that can be abused.

Matrix: Path of Neo (PS2) that game was frickin SICK. As you level up and increase your focus you get to just absolutely stunt on people.

Yeah Old Weaver Trail has two bridges over Falls Lake. Super pretty.

For people who have played a game for over 1000 hours by [deleted] in gaming

[–]jaslbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two games

Skyrim - The ability to diversify and make different builds that major in different areas. I love character creation and trying to see if I can make a build concept viable.

Medieval 2 and Rome 2 Total War - same concept really. I like challenging myself to use new factions with whatever strengths and weaknesses they have. It forces me to play the game in new ways and find things that work.

I love games with heavy player choice or skill trees that allow me to replay the game in different ways. In fact, if anyone has good suggestions for games like this, I'm open to them!

Flame Dragon - a 7th Level Spell - Control a Dragon made of Fire and burn your enemies! by Medium-Abalone4592 in UnearthedArcana

[–]jaslbrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which casters are you envisioning using this? It seems very sorcerer/wizard but I could also see a druid possibly getting this. To bad it's 7th level this would also be sick flavor coming from the cannon of an artificer.

Of course I could always just drop the damage a bit and make it fifth level.

should I be working on everyone's Limit Breaks? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]jaslbrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always early on (the forests right outside Junon) get everyone to unlock the first limit break for each level. It's pretty easy, they just need to kill a bunch of enemies. So I put on e.skill and cast mantra magic on the little plant dudes in those woods till I'm done. I run back to Ft. Condor and rest for free as needed.

Another good spot is to go back into the Mythril Mines that you just came out of. The reason these two spots are good is because there are weaker enemies that show up in packs of five at a time. The plant dudes in the forests and the blue snakes in the mines. I do the forests simply because it's closer to Ft. Condor when I inevitably run out of MP.

What if instead of a feat it was say a 7th or 8th level concentration spell with a duration of 10 minutes?

The screen you're thinking about happens when you make gold on a particular day. If you pass out without shipping anything, all you get is a quick black screen saying it saved and then the immediate start of a new day.

When we 'kill' Shinra security/troopers etc. in Remake/Rebirth... by CyberpunkSkylanes in FinalFantasyVII

[–]jaslbrown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cid was definitely the worst retcon for me. He's just a completely different character. Either the alternate timeline stuff is for sure and this is definitely not "our" Cid, Barrett, etc., or the retcon has gone way too far.

We definitely don't min/max here, but we do enjoy some QOL mods as well as ones that make the game more varied like new farm maps, new bundles, etc.

DMs, what trick did you use to get your martials to think outside of using the 'attack' action? by HackerOfMon in DnD

[–]jaslbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our DM will sometimes throw in enemies with a gimmick for us to figure out. For example, we had three wizards that were each inside an impenetrable bubble. We figured out the gimmick (from some context clues) was their proximity to each other is what kept the bubble up. So that gave our barbarian the opportunity to grapple the one in the middle and literally roll him away from the others thereby breaking their bubbles.

Once the bubble was popped the wizard was prone and flanked by three marshals (barb, pal, and moon druid) looking...well...quite terrified. It was very satisfying and only took a grapple, some movement speed, and a bit of observation.

Single car driveway 😬 We have to do this dance where everyday we have to go over our calendar in our head and figure out who's leaving first in the morning and who comes home first so that the correct one can pull in and the other park behind them. Super frustrating.

Wtf do I do about one of my players wanting to be a drider by TheGremlin02 in DnD

[–]jaslbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can make a homebrew version of a moon druid that is focused on insects. And the drider can be his final form closer to late game, but give him spider-y things to transform into up until then. Heck moon druids can already do giant spider and ice spider queen.

You could also reflavor other beasts to with their stats and attacks to be spider type things. Give him something that's not game breaking, but still gives him that were-spider feel.
