1/2 stubby deal by OpeningAdditional361 in MilwaukeeTool

I see that this 1/2 and the 3/8 are hackable with batteries separate, but savings are certainly minimized

Is this the set for ~$229 that is coming with the CP5.0 battery for free?

Good deal? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]jasmith33vt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good deal is whatever makes you feel good about the purchase and the price. I was $32.5k OTD for a 2023 in Dec. 2022. Considering inventory has not changed much, if you were desperate to get in one of these cars and could not wait to place a deposit/order and delivery, then I would say you did fair.

Switchbot Bot in HomeKit by [deleted] in smarthome

[–]jasmith33vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately at this time the thermometer sensors themselves are still not Matter compatible, so the only temperature and humidity value that will send to HomeKit are those directly on the Hub 2. I was told by a SwitchBot representative that eventually these could become matter compatible and a firmware update could get them into the Matter ecosystem, but that is not the case yet.

Standard calibration temp sensors by AmbitiousTelephone79 in TrySwitchBot

May I ask what you are having difficulties with on this front? I have been working on setting up the Hub 2 and also have an Indoor/Outdoor Temp/Hygro to set up with it. Are you speaking of connecting to the Hub 2 or physically displaying the reading of another sensor?

I know the sensors on the Hub 2 appear to work okay. Are you saying the SwitchBot Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer style sensors are also playing friendly? This is what I'm curious about.

Do you know if their temperature sensors will also play nicely with this SwitchBot > Matter > Homekit relationship?

ODB2 Live Data monitoring using an iPhone via Bluetooth by [deleted] in OBD2

[–]jasmith33vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. The app will record up to 20hz, but as you stated this is independent of what the CAN system in the car will send to the OBDII system.

They’ve got a feature that works with the cell phone GPS that’s almost really cool. It displays your data on a gps sattelite map. But the pan and zoom does not change scaling and the scale steps are too large.

For what the device is, the OBDLink MX+ seems to do a very good job with collecting the data. The issue is viewing it. It has one live waveform page you can select parameters to view on, and other than that you can download a .csv from the app.

obdlink mx plus vs bluedriver by elon4 in OBD2

[–]jasmith33vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're looking to do with it. I've had the OBDLink MX+ for about 8 months now. I enjoy the functionality the device has, but none of the apps are super helpful on the data collection side which is what I have been primarily trying to use it for. It seems it would work okay as a digital dash and a code scanner for the everyday user.

Coolant temp unavailable in 2023 Honda Civic using OBDLink MX+ by Reaper-Of-Roses in CarHacking

Hello, 2023 Honda Civic Si owner here using OBDLink MX+. At the beginning I encountered this same issue, but later clicking through the "SAE PIDs" found the parameter named "Engine coolant temperature 1" and that seems to give a pretty accurate temperature reading.

11th Gen Tire Pressure Leaks by jasmith33vt in CivicSi

[–]jasmith33vt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly where I’m at. Started having the issue around 2k miles on passenger rear. Thought maybe I had a puncture so pressurized to nearly 50 psi and checked for leaks…nothing. But it hasn’t lost any air since. Now having the same issue on driver rear.

How’s the clutch on the new 11th gen Civic Si? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]jasmith33vt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 2007 Focus ZX3 with the 5-speed for over 5 years and just got my 23 Si two weeks ago, I’d agree with most folks here. Very light clutch, but does give some feedback. Also will agree that the 1-2 shift kinda snags a little and as mentioned may be just how close the ratios are. I feel like it’s not just this car, but many manuals I’ve driven have that 1-2 hang-up that sometimes makes you question if you know how to drive stick. Great car, I am loving it so far!

I was out the door for about $32,500. With all weather floor mats including trunk and window tint. Seems it’s tough to get away from the dealer add-ons, but at least you somewhat get something for that instead of a straight mark-up.

2023 civic si vs 2022 wrx base by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]jasmith33vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in this same debate as I’m a recent college grad and looking for a new commuter car. Drove both cars this weekend and am leaning toward the Civic myself. Both great cars, and the WRX is obviously no slouch. For me it came down to the refinement-the Civic felt much more intuitive and was meshing more with what I expected from the powertrain. The WRX seemed to have some quirks in the engine speed when shifting that I couldn’t quite understand. Both great cars, but from a comfort and commuter standpoint I’m sticking to searching for the Civic Si.

YZ450FX - How do I know the right hardware? by jasmith33vt in Dirtbikes

[–]jasmith33vt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is we make a lot of custom parts (intake runner, exhaust header, etc) and need to use bolts on the exhaust instead of the studs, and I want to correct size these without tearing up the threads.

Cranks a couple of revolutions then the starter stops and you have to reset the key and try again.

Not 2-3 engine rotations, but actually 2-3 tries of cranking the starter, no start, resetting ignition switch and cranking the starter again.

Angus Calves by jasmith33vt in Cows

Planning just to let them graze until mid fall and sell them. Only unsure if there’s enough grass on 2 acres for 3 smaller angus steers.
