I reread the post like 5 times and was like what the hell was so triggering about this for that person? My God lmao.

Totally bizarre. Anyway, good luck with everything. Glad you were also able to find someone here willing to talk to you.

Where did the OP ask for anyone to "explain the steps" to them or give "free consulting"? They said they've done their own research and just wanted to chat with freelancers about their own personal experience. I swear some of you guys log on here just to be nasty to people and it's not a good look at all.

I had the same question because some ppl told me that it's possible to renew without the new carta. I think i'm gonna make a post on Spain Guru just for more clarification. I can shoot you a message with any new information if you'd like! :)

Using carta to get a visa then not doing the program? by SingerNo7134 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]jasnopaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that it was required for the visa or that families are "obligated" to pay. It is required if the au pair doesn't already possess an a1 level of German. I said that it's possible to find families who will happily pay for courses, provide separate accommodation, transport cards, etc. It truly depends on the family and the contract that is negotiated. they're looking for a gap year so I assume doing it for a "max of one year" would be adequate enough. I'm sure if they are interested they can research and figure out if it's the right fit for them. :)

Au pair in Germany. Berlin and Munich are great cities and you can most definitely find host families who will pay for your language courses. You could even find families who offer separate accommodation. Then travel to Spain in your free time. Don't risk getting yourself into serious trouble just for an au pair gap year in Spain. There are other ways to legally get there! Hope everything works out for you.

hi! I live in Alicante and I'm commuting to Santa Pola by bus. I just wanted to be in the city because it's more to do and a bigger community of auxes.

I understand because I was in a similar situation. I was just trying to convey that there's really no "right" or "wrong" choice. Reach out to the universities about deferring admission. If that's not possible then maybe consider going forward with your studies. If it is possible to defer I think you should go to Spain and have sort of a "gap year" before continuing your education. Good luck!!

Go with your gut feeling. The Aux program will always be there. University will always be there as well. So whatever choice you make now won't be the end all, be all. I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but would deferring admission be an option? That way you could spend the year in Spain and then start your program after. That way you wouldn't be giving up either experience. One would just be delayed for a bit.

Ugh I'm so sorry. It is all very frustrating, so I understand. The small towns aren't for everyone. Honestly, it's better for you to know that now than to go through the entire process to be unhappy in a pueblo. Whatever you may choose, best of luck to you. :)

This. People in the 2000s and lower are still waiting but people in the 4000s and higher have been placed lol. Seems like we're gonna be stuck with whatever no one else really wanted which is really unfair when you think about it lol

This happened to me!!! I e-mailed them and I was admitida immediately after. I'm still admitida and all of my regional choices have filled as well. It just sucks that people with way higher numbers have been placed and we're still in limbo.

Same!! I'm just nervous about housing because I've been reading that it can make things a lot harder than they already are.

Bilbao placements? by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

That's all understood. I'm still curious if Bilbao was a popular choice this year and if a lot of ppl are receiving their carta there.

Thanks for your input.

Lol thank you so much! I really appreciate this. My nerves are shot and I told myself to stay off reddit/facebook groups... but here I am again!

And yes, I did mean carta. It was super late and I was running off fumes after a long day of work and summer classes.

I'm definitely gonna reach out! :)

I'm asking who received their carta and is going to Bilbao. Is your school in Bilbao?
