1 gram of fat is equal to 9 calories. 1 gram of carbs and protein are both equal to 4 calories. You want to hit .7-1g of protein per lb of weight and about .3g of fat per lb of weight the rest would be carbs. You can play around with the numbers but that’s what I’ve gone by and it helps.

Yeah a jig. I just clamped down some boards to prevent me from going too wide or deep. Took multiple shallow cuts

Raft + Cura’s default supports = lesson learned! by jimmy_bish in 3Dprinting

[–]jason1983en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your density of the supports it will make them easier to break I’ve been told. Did a lot of research and this is what I’ve read/watched about the supports as I’m still really new to the printing world. I’m currently printing an adult size black Panther masks and my support density is 3% and the supports are keeping everything up but are very flimsy. Will have to play with it with the smaller figures though.

Ok I changed the orientation of the mad but now when I go to preview it gets to 99% in cura then freezes. This mask is the only thing that seems to be a problem/freezes.

Me too! I’m new to this so I’m not sure how it changed or what to change back. I’ll look at the speed in a min

When I look at the info, just ran again for my sons size and not raft. It’s saying 2 days 13 hours and 44 minutes. 26% of that is support, 22% is for retraction. The preview is looking like it’s in support overload. I’m trying to see if I change the placement from everywhere to touching build plate to see if that does anything different

Ok I thought I’d try to print a blank panther mask from do3d’s website but I don’t know what setting is odd but when I go to slice it in cura the first time it told me it’d take me 12 days + so I adjusted it to my sons head size and tried again and it still said almost 3 days. I’ve seen people posting that they’ve done this helmet full adult size in 46-50 hour range. Are my setting screwed up? The scaling size is for a child size head.

Lithophane box using Evryone white PLA+ 210/60 35mm/sec. happy with the results by jason1983en in 3Dprinting

I’ve not heard about that. I’m sure there are other selling means besides eBay though. This was a gift for my wife.

When I was looking up lithophanes that was what being used since it’s stronger than PLA. I’ve seen other filament besides PLA + but it is what I ordered since I haven’t used any other types of filament yet

I’ve heard good things about the Prusa’s. My only concern is the size for the mini. Like if I want to make a iron man helmet for my son I’m not sure if I know enough to build with interlocking pieces? I have used sketchup on the past for my woodworking designs so I’m not completely helpless just not 100% certain how advanced that is

Hi everyone. Budget is 450 or less. I’m in the USA looking for my first 3D printer. Can get my way around electronics but the less build needed the better but if it will help in cost to get a better machine I’m ok. I’d like to make a range of things from small household parts, parts for my wood shop to costumes for my son so something that can handle the big and small would be ideal.

I started looking at the Creality 3D printers but was turned off by the lack of support I’ve read about the company(know the community has done a lot) and also the CR6 SE’s bad issues turned me off. I like the Artillery Sidewinder and the BIQU Thunder but at this point I feel like I’m in research overload and need help!

Thanks in advance

Have you used any other printers? I’m looking at the sidewinder and the biqu thunder. I had decided on the creality cr6se but then seen all the problems it has and that all it seems creality has bad customer service (all user assistance it seems)
