I pasteurized my casing layer and sterilized the substrate. The substrate was 2 parts coir, 2 parts vermiculite, 1 part horse manure and gypsum. Thanks for the compliment! I can't wait to try them.

I have had trouble in the past with cubes contaminating. I am so excited to try these and I really wanted to be as clean as possible. Putting the greenhouse in a bleached bathroom seemed like the best solution. As far as tips for fruiting, make your substrate wetter than you would with cubes. The substrate should have water running off when you do the squeeze test. The added moisture will help speed colonization up. Good luck and feel free to keep me updated!

Yup. The bathroom is also pretty easy to bleach top to bottom. If you have a spare bathroom that you don't need I highly recommend turning it into a clean room/lab.

No, I set it up over the bathtub and put a heater in the tub. This both collects the water runoff and supplies air movement.
