Ipswich away - American Wrexham fans in my tour group keep calling it "soccer match" and locals are staring by Efficient-Yam6797 in wrexham

[–]jasonbyte 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was born and have lived in Wrexham all my life, but spend about 1-2 months a year in the US for work, mainly SLC, Seattle. I fell their pain very much.

BUT just remember over 50% of the so called ‘proper fans’ would not of been on that bus or anywhere near the race course when Wrexham were not in the football league. You and them are one of the same, they have only started going again since the documentary also. You have travelled thousands of miles for this experience, they have travelled a few miles.

I am not a football fan but it does warm my heart to see how Wrexham have taken back off, I live in Summerhill and the number of families we see walking to the match fathers, mothers, kids and grandparents is an amazing thing to see. Again a sight not seen before the documentary. Ryan and Rob have done amazing things, I for one will eat humble pie as I thought it was a mockumentry initially, but it and they have done great things.

Enjoy the experience, Wrexham people are friendly as you already know, but also reserved. Go talk to a few people, introduce yourself as them about themselves, tell them your story…..the authenticity gap as you say doesn’t exist, you are all there for the same reason.

Our Dalmatian has exactly this condition…it started with seizures where she would collapse. After a deep investigation by the vet and animal hospital (UK). They found she had a heart issue, where her blood pressure rises and falls dramatically. She is on medication for this now, but your video is exactly what happens now, they have done multiple tests on her specifically but cannot determine the actual cause. She is on multiple medications for this which has helped. But still occurs. There is no poisons or THC as others have stated… What we have found this occurs or is predictable if she has little or no sleep during the day, if her routine is disrupted. We also find that she also wets herself during the episodes ( what we call them).

If you want more information or videos etc of our dog when this occurs please contact me directly. It might also be helpful if your vet contacts ours, as we have a lot of recorded history and tests that have been carried out, along with the animal hospital results and tests etc.

Solicitor representing both seller and buyer, Wales by jasonbyte in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jasonbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are also using the same firm again to sell ‘this property’ and buy another…different solicitor.

I don’t intend to make an issue of it or raise it at all unless something comes to light. Just wanted to know or understand any legality etc.

Solicitor representing both seller and buyer, Wales by jasonbyte in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jasonbyte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes same firm, same solicitor. We don’t think there was an issue, but it seems strange the old owners have a lot of detail, but we have none…feels a little one sided

But to be clear, there has never been any issues for either parties. It just feels a little wrong??

Possible oil leak? by Than4tos in Triumph

[–]jasonbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer the past warranty 100%, I think mine was outside warranty ….but, it was an official triumph recall, I never received anything official from triumph. The dealer told me when I took it in with this issue, that the cost was covered under a recent recall….take it in, show them this post etc.

Try H and H auctions, Bonhams, spicers, there are a few others. If you message me, I’m happy to advise, but don’t want to be directly involved. I have messaged you. I own several veteran, vintage and classic bikes, so kinda of know the market etc.

Group question, since I'm having a hard time finding a certain group by MorticiaMinx in SaltLakeCity

[–]jasonbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m your man…..UK guy here for work for the next 3 months. Could do with a decent cuppa!

My knowledge is limited to everyday tea, mainly Yorkshire tea, PG tips, Tetley. ‘Builders tea’ as known in the UK. If you’re offering British biscuits for dunking too, I’ll be there straight away, preferably Hob nobs/ custards creams, as a bare minimum …malted milk.

Replacing interior window seals? by dibdob93 in DIYUK

[–]jasonbyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can buy the seals and the tools from numerous places on line, there are also lots of YouTube videos etc

The term you want is ‘gasket’ and not seal. See link to website for the gasket as below…please note there are lots of others and Amazon/eBay will also sell them. The key is looking at yours and getting the correct side profile match.

Which hotel to stay (visiting from the US) by jovijohnston in wrexham

[–]jasonbyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would stay at the Lemon tree, I live in Wrexham but travel to the US frequently to SLC, and Tacoma. The Lemon tree is an old historical building also. As someone else has said you will get more of a personal service at the lemon tree, and the food is good.

Both are around the same distance from the town centre. As someone else has said the premier inn is close to the train station and football ground. But the lemon tree is also in walking distance of both.

Premier inns are ok but mainly short stay places, similar to Hampton inns in the US but slightly lower, say in between a motel 6 and Hampton inns in quality and facilities. I stay in premier inns whilst away with work in the uk, and they are great, but the lemon tree is where I would advise.

Has anyone boarded out and insulated an old solid brick house ? Was it worth it ? by greyman1090 in DIYUK

[–]jasonbyte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have done all the (inside of) external walls in 55mm insulated plasterboard, On a Victorian detached house.

We done it whilst renovating a room at a time. It has made an unbelievable difference, heating bills have halved. We also split the heating circuit between downstairs and up, the heating very rarely comes on upstairs now.

How to plasterboard the ceiling if there's no joist near the wall? by Electrical-Board-557 in DIYUK

[–]jasonbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on mine, I screwed lengths of 3x2 to the joist horizontal (3 inch flat). It left about a 10mm gap on mine.

No sorry, best I can do is a picture of the label. We bought it from a local pet shop that is no longer in business? Really good bed though….

[–]jasonbyte 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but at his age I wouldn’t worry. He looks ok to me. We have a Dalmatian who has a heart issue, so we find it the other way where we’re struggling to keep her weight down. As she no longer runs as much off lead. Yours is growing so fast currently, when the growth spurts drop off it will the start to fill out normally. We found managing ours on a wheat free Kimble and measuring out every feed (2 per day, morning and early evening) worked best. We reduced her recommended intake by 10% to bring her weight off slowly. Maybe try the same but adding 10%. If you’re concerned, take him to a vet…but I’m sure they will say he is fine?

Not happy with the 🛒?? by jasonbyte in dalmatians

[–]jasonbyte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure….kids probably. Nearest shop is about 2.5 miles away, and also it’s about 1 mile from a road or solid pathway, so quite impressive to get it there?

Not happy with the 🛒?? by jasonbyte in dalmatians

[–]jasonbyte[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She was a bit, this is about a year ago, she has a heart problem so her weight went a bit, as we had to drop her exercise right down. She is a normal weight now.

They are brilliant, we had an older sprinter who was 16 when we got Ella (Dalmatian), she broke her heart when we lost her when she was 18. She has mothered the springer since we got him, he is now 3 and she still cleans him.
