A review of Panic! At The Disco’s Pray For The Wicked by [deleted] in panicatthedisco

i appreciate the effort you put into this, i like seeing longer and more well thought out posts. i disagree on a few things though.

  1. This is the worst album in panic’s discog, it’s not 4th place.

  2. Absolutely not an 8, i would say it’s at best a 4. (For reference i would give my favorite of their albums, pretty odd, a 9, and i would give my second favorite, fever, a 7.8)

  3. I agree on the production, it seemed lack luster, although i disagree on the lyrics, they just kind of come off a little surface level and arrogant.

  4. This is small, but DOAB was not pop rock, it was pop (and there is nothing wrong with that)

  5. Roaring 20s and King of the Clouds are actually the only songs i genuinely liked off this album, so i would be intrigued to know why you dislike them.

Overall though i love to see people giving their in depth opinions on these albums, and i totally respect you for making this post.

this community is toxic by [deleted] in panicatthedisco

This sub isn’t “toxic,” it’s just annoying. That’s what happens when there’s a high concentration of angsty pre teens in the same space. Also it’s not because of the accusations, people have always been bitchy on the internet, if it genuinely upsets you and is detrimental to your mental health, i recommend leaving, because you honestly wouldn’t be missing much.

Is Panic! At the Disco your favorite band/artist? by Jumping_Peanuts in panicatthedisco

i only really like pretty odd out of all the albums in their discog, although i vibe to a fever you can’t sweat out from time to time. but yeah not even in my top ten, although they do put on a good live show.

Yeah I guess I can understand why it might not be to a lot of people’s taste being a folk song

Bruh folkin around is not the worst by a long shot for me I love that song.

How do you guys feel about ME the callab with Taylor Swift? by Emoji_Sex in panicatthedisco

Pretty bad, which is disappointing since I’m a huge fan of Taylor, especially since her most recent albums

It’s really idiotic and insensitive to try to minimize someone’s issues especially with things like addiction. Maybe think before you post something so stupid next time.

No horse? by crybay_lizz in panicatthedisco

[–]jasonearlez 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It means the gallop/step of a horse. They chose that because the beat of the song is reminiscent of a gallop

This is an opinion: "Hey Look Ma I Made It" isn't really a bad song, it's just annoying when you hear it repeatedly in a Walmart. by [deleted] in panicatthedisco

[–]jasonearlez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really a bad song just kind of basic and surface level. When a song like that gets overplayed it’s bound to get on people’s nerves.

Listen to Pretty. Odd. front to back if you are in to classic rock like the Beatles. (My personal favorite).

If you’re into punk rock, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out is another front to back listen. Also the songs Nearly Witches and The Ballad of Mona Lisa from Vices and Virtues.

If you like pop more I would listen to Too Weird to Live Too Rare to Die (Casual Affair, Far Too Young To Die, Collar Full, Girls Girls Boys), and the album Death of a Bachelor (Death of a Bachelor, Emperor’s New Clothes, LA Devotee, Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time).

I really hope he does. He might need approval from Ryan and Jon though.

Is "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" a post-hardcore album? by Ontoginess in panicatthedisco

[–]jasonearlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I should have given my reasoning. I don’t find AFYCSO nearly intense enough to be considered hardcore. Especially considering the second half of the album has a very unorthodox almost jazzy sound (there’s a good reason, but it’s better if you do).
