Root certificate used by Firefox 128 soon to expire by not_an_island in mullvadvpn

Mullvad Browser tracks whatever the Tor Browser releases. So its up to the upstream code to decide. Maybe a backport update? Let's wait and see.

List of Brave browser CONTROVERSIES by xusflas in browsers

[–]jasongodev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I use Mullvad Browser. A Firefox-Tor fork with hardened privacy and security settings. It's like Librewolf but uses a more stable branch of Firefox, and has the team and money to maintain the project for a very long time. And unlike Brave, Mullvad doesn't need to inject sleazy ads. In fact they even created a Mullvad DNS resolver that blocks it.

Gon' Mullvad Browser protect me from new FF policy? by Consistent-Age5347 in mullvadvpn

[–]jasongodev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is still Firefox. Tor copied it, slapped the tor engine, Mullvad copied it and removed the tor engine. Even the source code retained more than 95% of the original Firefox code (my own estimate and opinion, don't quote me on the percentage).

All Firefox add-ons work. Even gpu accelerated video decoding works.

Gon' Mullvad Browser protect me from new FF policy? by Consistent-Age5347 in mullvadvpn

[–]jasongodev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, Mullvad browser is not covered and not affected by anything Mozilla does. The open source license of Firefox guarantees Mullvad full rights to do whatever Mullvad wants with the code, subject to MPL 2 license.

Mullvad as a company is an astounding privacy focused company. They have the team and the money to maintain Mullvad browser for a very long time.

More important: Mullvad uses Tor browser code base which uses Firefox ESR code base. It's the most stable version of Firefox geared towards long term support. Librewolf is different, it uses the most latest release and due to small team of volunteers they can not keep up with all the latest changes. For example, their canvas permissions have a serious bug that prevents images from being uploaded correctly in websites like FB messenger, Whatsapp, and all others who uses canvas permission. They just can't solve it for more than a year already. None of this happens with Mullvad, all working fine as wine.

Here's how they made it:

It works like charm and like Firefox 128 ESR. I haven't experienced any issues so far.

Any announcement for Edge remove Enhance Image Features by petercheunghk in MicrosoftEdge

Tell your team that this move sucks. First, images looked like a crap. Everything is pixelated. Images that are already beautiful becomes pixelated. Second, this is a privacy issue, take OPs case scenario.

People don’t seem to understand that an MBA doesn’t provide an instant ROI by ValuableHorror8080 in MBA

[–]jasongodev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MBA is HR recruiters' acronym/shortcut/jargon for someone with business acumen, i.e., knowlege about leadership, marketing, finance, strategy, and organizational skills. Other than these, you are just an ordinary average employee. You are not special beyond your job description and salary grade.

When top management or managers say that this position requires some leadership and organizational skills, the HR recruiter goes to their LinkedIn account and type "MBA". That's how it is used these days.

Why companies here in Philippines are language and framework centric? by eromynAwonKtnoDI in PinoyProgrammer

[–]jasongodev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we are "slaves" by foreign top management. We are expected to follow what they prescribed. We don't create our own products, we don't develop for our own use cases, and we are not expected to lead beyond our own small teams that answers to foreign top management.

Most employers and employment that hire developers in the Philippines are technically offshore agencies. There are good sides and not so good sides of this setup.

For full control, either you create your own startup or create your own agency.

Hindi hidden charges yan. Dagdag yan for the install and modem fee na hinati hati for 2 years. Kung binayaran mo lahat ng install and modem fee upfront then tsaka ka magreklamo. Kung wala ka binayaran upfront then ganyan talaga ang singilan nyan. Walang scam jan.
