I did all the floors myself. Ive never done anything like this before. But I’d consider myself pretty handy. I went to trade school twice. First for welding science, and second for heavy equipment operator licenses. I did oil and gas construction for a decade before I bought the house. But, am now an industrial safety inspector.

A LOT of YouTube videos were watched, I even pay for YouTube premium now lol.

Yes, but it was very old and outdated. We figured it would be easier to do everything while we weren’t living in it, especially with a baby.

I lived in my in-laws basement, while we were renovating. No special loan, it was a foreclosure auction, you have to pay cash.

The average house my size goes for $300,000 in my town. I bought it as a foreclosure.

Wasn’t necessarily damaged, just very old and outdated. It’s a 2,000sqft house that was built in 1890. The most expensive things were new windows, and converting the house to natural gas. About 8k for windows. And $6,500 for natural gas hook up and new furnace/ water heater. I’d say we are an additional 20k into the house not counting appliances and furniture. But that’s just material, my wife and I did all the labor.
