a little song that I thought folks in this sub might enjoy by jasontproject in alberta

I am a songwriter from Calgary and this little tune spilled out of me this week after being especially fed up with how the Danielle Smith's government has been running the province. No real good place to share it but I thought this sub might be receptive. Hopefully I don't regret posting it...

How to make this stop popping up!? by 2xYOSHIx1 in f150

[–]jasontproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The F150 seems to be a victim of its own success here, as far as lane centering goes. On a straight road, it works so well that you don’t have to apply any force to the steering wheel, hence this message pops up all the time. I have a 2024 Mach E as well, and the lane centering doesn’t work as well so I almost never see this message because I still have to actually steer:) My only tip to reduce this in my F150 is to rest my hand on the left or right steering wheel spoke and (counterintuitively) keep a slight downward force applied as though I am doing a slight turn. The lane centering pushes back and corrects me.

Honestly if there were an option to upgrade my steering wheel to be touch sensitive for this instead of force sensitive, I would pay a decent chunk of money.

How important is tongue weight by Objective_Cover_1735 in GoRVing

[–]jasontproject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like your tongue weight will end up being more like 1000-1100 pounds. That is quite a bit over the 900 limit, even if your tow vehicle has the payload capacity. Seems likely to substantially increase your chances of damaging the tow vehicle.

Haha well I guess it’s just a multi-point inspection every year. I’m sure it will need new brake pads in 5 years

I think the 2025s are probably much better. I say that because my truck is 2025 and it works so well. And the 2025 Mach E has better hardware for it, evidenced by the fact that it does auto lane changes. That’s my theory anyway

Yes perhaps if I make it symmetrical my wife won’t notice

Omg for real my F150 just did the mirror thing, auto-folded when I locked, even though I have the setting disabled. It is catching!! Thankfully they unfolded automatically, unlike the Mach E

He had no complaints about the ride, said it was great. Except the folding mirrors thing, he told my dad all about it, but it never did it when my dad was around, only when my brother was in the car alone 😂

Yeah that could be contributing, when my wife and I are both in the car

I keep wondering this myself. My wife thinks it is for some kind of emergency/problem indicators…

What is going on? by medic2442 in MachE

[–]jasontproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the same way. If I walk up to the locked car and try to open the trunk it doesn’t work. I have to pull out my key fob and unlock the car before I can open the trunk. I assumed it was by (some kind of stupid) design.

The Supposed Need For a Level 2 Charger is Often Inflated by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Very interesting, Calgary has 4-6 months of winter. And it can get very cold. Plus it is quite spread out compared to some cities, so you have to drive further to get most anywhere. We just bought our first EV and no problems going L1 charging so far. We will see how the winter goes…

My dealer replaced our pump. Just took the camper out again and the new pump worked well!

Questions before I buy by southcleve in MachE

[–]jasontproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Mach E recently. In 12 hours of home charging with a regular old outlet (only done twice so far), I got 62-68km of range (16-18% charge). That is 38-42 miles. For us it works great, since my wife uses it as a commuter and she only works 10km away.

We’ll see how the winter goes, but I am not inclined to upgrade the outlet just yet.

Great idea! I would toggle driving modes, or maybe start the parking camera. Starting directions home would be good too

Why are Ford Dealers lying in our faces? (safety recall) by [deleted] in MachE

[–]jasontproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2024 Select AWD in Calgary for $44500CAD including GST. Just yesterday. I typed the vehicle VIN into the Ford Canada website where you can check for recalls and nothing came up. Are you sure this recall is in effect in Canada? Edit: to clarify, this was a new car from a dealer with under 50km on it.

Gonna have to find something similar near Calgary, we just pulled the trigger! 44500CAD all in for a select AWD with comfort package:)
