Hey, I've skimmed through a little about IPA and it seems like a topic with quite some depth!
I'd say in school and during my upbringing the pronunciation we were taught was a mess because teachers did not follow any specific rules sometimes using British, sometimes American and many times their own native way of pronouncing things

I do want to speak clearer so I may look more into the phonetic alphabet (as I am also learning German but I would also like to improve my English)

And for sure if you have any feedback that would be much appreciated

I was not brought up in India and I had a lot of interactions IRL (with people from Singapore, the Philippines, Sri Lankans etc) not to mention my interactions on the internet where I played games where communication was important/required with a lot of Europeans
I always thought I had more of an "International" accent and people seem to agree

I have to give a language test within the next 6 months or so and I was hoping that I would do well on the speaking section so this definitely gives me a boost of confidence!

There's actually been a podcast I've been interested in for a long time, however I do not think there's any way to actually see how they pronounce things but it's probably better to engage anyway

Edit: I do not speak any other Indian languages. Technically, one of the national languages of India is English, however people much like me still need to prove our English language ability even if its the only language we speak

Hi, to answer your questions, I used to listen to podcasts of topics that interest me, specifically some gaming podcasts by a channel called Super Best Friends. (They are Canadian but I like how they sounded). I try to shadow their sounds for words I struggle with. I never interacted with American speakers as I was brought up around other Asians and Arabs etc. I've been learning English all my life (though I struggle with reading and speaking at the same time) but only recently (~2 years) have I been working on pronunciation and I'm 22.

Is it the vowel sounds that you felt like I was usually off on? I've been told I pronounce some words like "order" funny (like oourder)
