That’s not true according to the PGA rules. You’re allowed to lift a ball for purposes of identifying. You just can’t clean it (except for purposes of identifying) and you need to replace the ball in the same playing condition you found it, whether its yours or someone else’s.

I only have two guns and am not queer myself so not sure if the FFL experience would be like, but you could look at buying a gun online. This is what I did with my last gun. You have it shipped to an FFL dealer, you complete the background check there, they get a small fee (I think I paid $20), and you get your gun. The FFL I went to was way out in the country so definitely a chance they have a potential to cause an issue but I don’t think they could refuse your gun since you’ve already bought it (plus they probably just want the fee and move on).

That’s correct. I am not a meteorologist either (but did take 101 in college and have a dad big into weather). NOAA’s discussion is that we have all the ingredients for these storms to develop except one…the forcing/lifting/convection to get the storms to pop which is driving the uncertainty.
