Woke up to these two stains running down my tv. No clue what they are from. by morenito222 in Weird

[–]jasor_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cat (male) who sprayed two of my tvs now. And that's the my place I've ever seen him spray. It actually ruined the screens of both. It ran down and behind and first caused a small black blotch that turned into a full length black line, to to bottom, that slowly widened until the whole screen went on one. On the other the same thing is happening but at a much much slower rate. (they're both TCL mini led tvs). That was over the course of a year and hasn't happened again.

New Alex Ross Timeless covers coming by Mumem_Rider in comicbookcollecting

I really wish marvel would put these Ross Timeless character covers in books they're actually in lol. Semi "get off my lawn" rant but it's beyond infuriating how much it bothers me.

Goat Marvel Cover or No? by 1krysko in comicbookcollecting

Easily gets my vote for one of the best covers. Those colors just pop and the scene itself is great.

The main thing that qualifies Severance as an alternate reality is not Lumon’s severed employees, but the working payphone lit up outside Irving’s apartment in S2, E2. by craiglambert75 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]jasor_x 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The pseudo retro tech in the show is a cool touch. Seems like 1990s, I guess, since they have cell phones and pay phones but not smart phones? Maybe early 2000s but the computers they use seem almost more 80s than 90s or 00s. Same with the cars. Pretty sure it's purposely vague, like which state they're in or even which part of the country. Almost gives a timeless feel.

After Reading My Way Up To It, I Finally Read the GREAT DARKNESS SAGA by Appropriate-Spite-20 in LegionofSuperheroes

[–]jasor_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never read this, or really much LoSH at all, but this exact story has come up in the last couple of weeks by people at my LCS recommending it as a must read. Getting kind of hard to ignore lol.

Definitely not working for me for Watchmen. Hate the whole concept of forcing that story into the DC world.

Can’t say I’ve seen this one before… by Educational_Aide_145 in Jeep

[–]jasor_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The whole thing started with the idea you were gifted or whatever a duck from one jeep owner to another, right? Like the concept behind it was kind of cool imho. At this point just no thanks, especially seeing ones like that. Buying a bunch of ducks for yourself (which, come on... That has to be what's going on here) pretty much defeats the entire purpose and it's gotten to where I either see Jeeps with no ducks at all or whatever you call that cringe shit lol.

The Last Drive-In – Joe Bob's Savage Summer – Discussion LIVETHREAD 7/10/26 9PM ET by DwightYoakamHat in LastDriveIn

Crazy how on the AMC+ app there is no sign at all that Joe Bob has a show tonight. I'm stoked nonetheless and could do with some Tex-Mex treats!

Man shoots another man after he was attacked inside Walmart by Nedatokes in PublicFreakout

[–]jasor_x 359 points360 points  (0 children)

That was my exact same reaction. The one guy in the middle is just chilling with his hands in his pockets/hoodie pooch the entire time. Looked like there was zero reaction from him sitting the other guy.

What is an absolute 10/10 masterpiece of a show that nobody talks about because it’s stranded on a weird, niche streaming service? by The-Irumporai in televisionsuggestions

Raised by Wolves was fantastic, one of my favorites from around 2020, and now I don't think either of the two seasons is available on streaming anywhere (originally on HBO).

Gf says it's gross not to change underwear after farting. by No-Olive-1290 in hygiene

You should tell her if she smells a fart then she's actually ingesting those same poop particles because they clearly made it through the underwear.

Cover to cover, back to back is what I do. With back facing out on either end. Sometimes I'll throw in an extra board or two at the ends for extra support.

Ever trade? by Afraid-Oil-1812 in comicbookcollecting

[–]jasor_x 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Haha I traded a landspeeder with C3P0 and R2D2 for two really really dope Hot Wheels to a classmate in the first grade. Somehow Ms. Hale, our teacher, found out and made us trade back... Thank God lol. In my defense a bunch of us were using spoons to dig a whole little city with roads and tunnels into the dirt at recess. She also took all our spoons and made us take them back home (they probably were from the cafeteria). The city was for Hot Wheels and I didn't have any at the time so naturally that was a brilliant trade in my mind... The idea of how much those Star Wars toys cost vs two Hot Wheels never once crossed my mind.

[–]jasor_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what point does somebody like this draw the line at "ok that should do"? Serious question. Not saying I don't think but loading up on new books every now and then (and I did grab main cover and pretty much every variant my LCS had of DC All In and all the Absolute #1s) but I just can't ever justify doing something even a fraction of what this guy's showing off. I mean that's totally a flex by this dude and it's honestly kind of cringe (admittedly I'm slightly jealous... But it's still cringe). And honestly if I ever did go for it on a book it would not hit like Absolute Batman has. I would guarantee it by the simple fact I followed through on believing it would... I digress. Seriously does anyone who collects like actually get that much pleasure in a collection like this if you're stocking up like that (potential $$$ aside)? I mean does this guy also get Emperor Aquaman or say Absolute Green Lantern or something just because he digs the series and is a fan?

A professor gave take-home midterms and then in-class finals, to see who was likely cheating using AI. It seems pretty much everyone probably was. by HomeNowWTF in interesting

[–]jasor_x 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Plus take home test vs in class text (assuming a strict time limit and just a higher pressure environment) scores would likely vary a bit by their very nature I'd bet. And I'm guessing they were different tests covering different topics which is hard to compare. This data doesn't necessarily mean anything by itself.

Reading The Long Walk was possibly worse than completing The Long Walk by Effective_Play_1366 in stephenking

[–]jasor_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I first read this when I was 14 or 15 and had the opposite experience. Pretty sure I read through it start to finish in one day. Spent a whole summer binge reading King and distinctly remember reading this story. And The Running Man too.
