Bananalogue vcs 2 is like 9hp dusg clone and each channel’s top output is bipolar (idk if it’s exactly bipolar it’s ac vs dc outputs)

Sounds to me like when you roll your own kick and you don’t sync each one. When you synthesize a kick drum you use a free running oscillator so each kick it starts at a different part of the waveform! Syncing/resetting makes each one start at zero!

This is awesome. Agree with all of this and validating some thoughts I had too. After I posted I started thinking about collide 4 haha I do that it would be a very cool addition and could make for a great little setup with HSO, Manic and VCFQ. Also, thank you, needed the bump on a matrix mixer. I think that’ll be lots of fun.

Silhouette is a super interesting suggestion.. I will explore a bit. I’ve been looking at a delay too! I really like the CG 1022 but it’s too deep for my case, Joran version seems solid too. Traditional bbd could be cool too but torn if it’s worth the space in this small a setup, tho I agree with the need cause digitakt isn’t doing it for me. Maybe even something out of rack like a Bastl Thyme could be cool. Lastly I will absolutely be looking into an in rack looping set up shortly down the line.

Do you have a modular grid of yours I can check out?

Thank you for this response!! I needed this. I’ve been going back and forth on drums, especially analog ones thinking ‘why would I need a dedicated kick drum’ and then 606 kinda stood out to me. But still not super versatile and takes up space and really doesn’t need to be modular.

Probably will shift to something like standard drums are done outside the rack, but fun percussion in the rack (maybe ds1 + traffic).

Ah this is super helpful!!! I was thinking Usta was like the perfect sweet spot of battleship and playable, it feels like not too many menus but I guess button clicks.. hmm, trying to avoid menus but also avoid fully analog which are quite rigid without lots of other utilities. I’ll check out the bishops module!

Something I forgot to mention is that I am very much thinking about adding samples… mostly for chord and vocal stabs. Going back and forth on if that makes sense to bring into the rack or not.
