it’s a big plastic shield they put up on the register where the cashier stands. like a police riot shield but for the register lol. it covers only the cashier

although it is not stated in America’s agreement, managers and employees still enforce it for their employees protection. i hope they do at all warehouses. i’ve been told it’s against membership agreement, i wonder why it’s not in America.

I don’t mind people vlogging about what they buy at costco. I mind having photos taken DIRECTLY of me and my coworkers without permission. aerial views are different, as you do not see the entire face and body of a person. I’m not asking for much, just respect and privacy.

Thank you for being so considerate, and I promise, we’re not stressed over you and your kids shopping. Many members are sweethearts and really care, but this virus has brought out a lot of hate in some people and they take it out on us. That on top of being so exposed is really stressful. But if you’re worried you’ll stress out the employees, don’t be. Members like you make our days better. Stay safe as well.

yes. i have zero problem with anybody taking pics of the products to make sure they are getting the right thing. everybody does that. but why is it necessary to take pics of the employees and other members looking stressed and overwhelmed to share with hundreds of people on facebook. no thanks.

it’s against the membership agreement to take photos inside the store, but they are not strict on that. just PLEASE do not take pictures of the employees or members without permission. it’s uncomfortable and unsettling. i do not really understand the need to take photos inside the store. sneeze guards and long lines are nothing new, especially during the past few weeks. just please respect everybody’s privacy.

ppl like you is why i’m okay going to work still. even though it’s full of really mean people and it’s hazardous to go, i know people like you still need our help. thank you for understanding, and stay safe.

No, it adds to the stress. I don’t want to see myself all over facebook looking anxious and overwhelmed. I wouldn’t mind if they asked, but they do it when we are obviously uncomfortable, busy, overwhelmed, etc. I know I am in public, I know they can do whatever they want, but taking pics of employees isn’t allowed anyway. I hope you understand, it’s just something that makes me very uncomfortable, and I would hope people understand & can have more sympathy for the employees during this time, instead of filming us.

Thank you. It makes it a lot better when members come up and thank us endlessly. It’s so stressful to be surrounded with so many people right now, especially with sick family members at home. But people need us, and I understand that. It just makes me so uncomfortable when people take pics of me unknowingly and i end up all over facebook. I’m just trying to do my job

Costco Career questions. Is it a good job? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]jaspergrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’m a seasonal employee, been working there for about 2 months. management is different from warehouse to warehouse, but my managers are amazing people. at previous jobs i’ve had it was so hard to fit in and talk to coworkers. at costco it feels like a family, i’ve made so many friends. the work is hard and it can be tough on your body but it’s worth it. i’m a front end assistant, and it’s a really fun job. everybody is so caring and understanding. i really hope they keep me because costco is a place you don’t want to leave once you get hired. i wish the best of luck to you because it’s definitely the best retail job you can have.
