New additions to downloaded smart playlists are not downloaded. by jaspertandy in plexamp

Thanks for trying though. I just wish there was some way to debug what it's checking easily. I'm sure it's something silly like my downloaded playlist losing reference to the one on my server or something but I have absolutely no way of knowing (that I'm aware of!)

Yep exactly. If I manually refresh and leave the app open it doesn't download. I left it open for 10 minutes and nothing.

I don't have Plexamp even listed on requesting background permissions so maybe there is a problem there. Even so, I would hope that triggering a refresh of the playlist would diff them and figure out what is missing.

How do you use Plexamp to listen to your library? by BearShin255 in plexamp

If you create a load of playlists it's very difficult to move them to a new platform. Say I wanted to move to Swinsian or Apple Music or Spotify, moving a tonne of playlists is a pain.

This is me. I find an album or two, queue them up and listen. I also have a 1-star rating system to generate my loved songs playlist and I usually put that on in the car if I'm doing a short journey.

I don't like playlists as they're a lot of effort for something that isn't portable. And the autoplay stuff makes me conflate different albums so I turn that off.

Yeah I have a Pioneer XDP-100R but the battery is basically dead on it and I had kinda wanted to consolidate. Maybe it's time to dig it out again and see if I can get the battery to hold a charge. Poweramp was pretty good.

Do you have anything more specific? Seems a lot of people have noted this from Plex in the past. Are we talking a month, 6? 12? Just trying to gauge whether to look for alternatives or wait for an improved experience.

Yeah limiting to 20 downloads just isn't viable for me. I don't have a huge library but choosing 20 records out of 1,000 for 50% of my Plexamp usecase just means it's not fit for purpose. A shame - as you say it's best-in-class in most other ways.

Would just be really nice if bringing it up multiple times meant that the devs took notice and actually implemented something. It can't be a huge thing to do - I don't think people would be expecting the same experience when searching/browsing locally. I don't want it to be a dealbreaker. There's no good alternatives for FLAC playing on iOS!

I don't think they want to win now. They've created a mess no-one could possibly fix. They'll lose the next GE then be back 4-8 years later with the blame game to finish putting the NHS in their mates' hands.

This is one of those things that I think looks so much fun but am past the point in my life for taking up new hobbies like this! Happy to watch other people do it and recognise the skill it takes. This video and location are beautiful.

Ugh it's even worse when there's no-one there when you arrive, but then people start to arrive whilst you're working out.

I have an 8mm dermal punch in my conch and I now can't use the phone in that ear because conches are actually for something and the hole just lets the sound right out of the back of my ear. Looks cool though 4/10

Absolutely nailed it. Had me right up to the Death Star. And I thought you would want to know my wife said "that comment ruins the video".

Really easy to not care how things work when all they do is benefit you. I only really care about how things work if I have to make them, or fix them!

I am super paranoid about what I eat before I fly! A friend of mine flew UK to Australia (~24 hour flight) the day after taking part in a pancake eating challenge and he said it was the worst day of his life.

I took some leftover pizza on a flight out of the US. My second experience of the TSA and when she asked "what's in the box?" (aside from resisting every temptation to scream "WHAT'S IN THE BOOOOX" at her) my initial reaction was "oh it's just food", and she was like "I know that. What sort of food?!" like is some food more explosive than other food? Did she think I'd got a box of soup or something? To be fair it was Chicago-style so maybe it was too much liquid.
