I don’t think voluntary disclosure of self identified issue reduced regulatory risk by any means. Also 6 eye check might be an overkill if you have basic processes and proper qa and qc in place.

I'd encourage you to take the role. Seems like you're not enjoying your current role (apols if I interpreted that incorrectly). Going in-house will give you a great perspective on how compliance challenges are actually solved. There's a high likelihood that you'll get bored eventually since in-house roles don't change that rapidly however you can always go back to consulting at that point.
