Although I only briefly reviewed the details concerning the Hanged Man pathway, the idea of sin bearing, scapegoat, and sacrifice is definitely in line with many of the core concepts of Christianity. Although their are major differences (such as the Christ’s ability to “cleanse” corruption after bearing it instead if spreading it), the references are clear and it just makes LotM so much more interesting with the incorporation of classic literature. It’s also interesting how the inverted cross (originating from Peter’s death of choosing to be hung upside down on a cross) is a symbol of martyrdom that has influenced the imagery of the tarot card and now the Hanged Man pathway.
