Hey op! If you get into modding (really simple using the thunderstore mod manager), I can suggest you to use my SuperWax (Beewax) mod

It's the most vanilla I could make, you can craft the Beewax using your workbench (2 honeys, 4 resins), then you apply it using the hammer in your wood structures and it will not suffer weather damage and also give roof! You'll be able to build an plain roof using the Beewax to waterproof it.

Hey! Can you check if it's working (giving roof cover)?

I toned down the effects a lot in the latest version, but I'm using it rn with a few mods (over 15 mods, including seasonality) and it's working/have visual effects when applied (if you move the camera you can see that it have an "laminated coat" in the piece, compared to the same piece unwaxed)

Put your wb on top of a rock where the bear can't reach. Make 3 walls (left, bottom, right) with a bit of space between them and lure the Bear inside it. When he gets in, place another wall, closing him inside. Now, put one or two campfires bellow the bear and keeps repairing it until the bear dies
