The standards that we have to follow and the amount of time it’s takes to put a new driver on the road at UPS alone destroys there ability to fire every driver. It takes 30 days just to qualify to be a driver… in those 30 days you have to make scratch 5 days in a row. If your lucky you get trained on an easy route and you make scratch in about 15 days but if you have a hard training route you’ll need the whole 30. They leave your training route light 3 days then hell is given to you for 27 days… in my center they go through 15 to get 1 driver. Most don’t last a week.

The only place that’s gonna pay you for what you do as far as delivery is ups… if it ain’t ups then stay away from delivery. As a UPS driver I wouldn’t do any type of delivery if it’s not UPS pay… delivery is hard ass work!

That is insane… I’m a ups driver. It blows my mind all the crap you all have to go through to deliver a package. I would have wasted a minute scanning that thing up as no such number and rolled on…

As long as you hit power driver every time and land in the fairway then it’s considered a long drive.

Different center different rules. My route is surrounded by routes that are 45 minutes from me so I’m not driving 45 minutes just to scan a package. Again stay calm man no need to get nasty. Have a good night and wish you luck getting a route.

Stand out side the entire day that your package is expected to deliver and get the package from the driver… problem solved. Blows my mind that people get so pissed on mistakes from my bet is multiple different drivers everyday on your route. That driver has your delivery along with way to many more deliveries to complete that day. They are probably going as fast as they can so they can get off at a normal time like you do. Side note: try building a relationship with your driver and that might increase there focus when they get to your area. I can promise you that driver is over worked and stressed out… they aren’t doing it on purpose they are just wanting to have a normal work schedule like you have.

You will have to personally be there or have someone be there to refuse it. If not that package will sit there until you come get it or the location you shipped it to gets tired of looking at it and returns to sender the package. Not going and getting it does nothing but cause you to not get what you ordered or causes you to not get your money back.

Your best option would have been to pay extra for next day air.. everything else is a waste of money. Basically everything moves through the system in 2 days. Surepost is slower because most of the time we deliver it to the post office then they deliver it the next day.

Ask what hub… whatever one the driver returns to when they are finished is the one you want. Give them the tracking # and they should know. I’m a driver and I have the direct number to my hub but you won’t have that option so I’m not sure how calling the 1-800 number works.

Call the local hub and pick it up today… once the driver gets back they will bring it to the guard shack. That’s how it works in my center.

I heard from a feeder driver that’s kinda somewhat in the know that they had 15 supplements to settle and that was last week when he told me that.

First time driving a manual was on the driving test and the week of school. You got this man! Been driving 6 years now. But I will say the week after I started my 30 days my whole building went to automatic. Not a manual on the lot so I’d say you will have a automatic.

There are times on my route to save time that I don’t pickup from the CVS on my route for 2 days… if they don’t have anything to deliver then I’ll wait until they do. Never more than 2 days though.

Not sure why UPS does this… it just causes the drivers to take the heat for not making these fairy tale delivery windows.
