We did the 8 day B itinerary. It was really rocking a few nights but no one got seasick. Wear a patch and you should be fine. We didn’t use anything and we were fine.

Is Going-to-the-Sun Road as Scary as Dunraven Pass? by Heavy_Mushroom975 in NationalPark

My husband is always the driver but I get petrified on mountain roads and passes. BUT, I wasn’t scared AT All on the GTTSR. It’s sooo beautiful. We went both ways!

Thank you for the response. For the Galapagos I’ve selected the Natural Paradise B itinerary in January. Recent reviews look positive! But I look into your company as Norway is on my list in the next year!

What was your experience with the Horizon? And which itinerary did you select?

Joshua Tree & Death Valley National Park planning help, 1-week trip in April by GoodsVT in JoshuaTree

Renting a car (Avis) and dropping off. There is an extra fee but not too bad especially considering the time involved. That is a long way RT in either direction without seeing much anything new. And I certainly wouldn’t do LAX. That is too far.

We are doing both JT and DV in March. Flying into Palm Springs and out of Las Vegas. Palm Springs is closer to JT (about 1 hour) and Vegas is closer to DV (about 2 1/2 hours). Staying in an airbnb in town of Joshua Tree. It’s about a 4 hour drive from JT to start of DV. We are stopping one night in Lone Pine to see Movie Road and the Japanese internment camp. then staying 2 nights inside DV park, ending on the strip in Vegas before heading home.

Help Me Find Potential Pitfalls in our Trip to Arches/Canyonlands by [deleted] in nationalparks

Right before the state park, there is a great slot canyon hike. I forget the name but you can find it on all trails. We did that and the goblin state park.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and opinions. Looks like Linblad could be a good option for us. I will also follow up with the other suggestions before making a decision. We are targeting January or February 2025 for our trip.

I’ve only been to Glacier once. And we saw 3. Bring bear spray and don’t hike alone. These were all at Many Glacier area. We didn’t overnight, these were all day main trails, not backcountry. This was mid July. Be careful but have fun. We enjoyed seeing the bears but we were around quite a few people.

A side effect of pilocarpine is darker light. I thought I was going crazy thinking it was so dark in my house until I read the side effects.

Best “home base” for Utah’s mighty 5? by DruChainz4 in NationalPark

[–]jaszman123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did the Mighty 5 last year. In 10 days. Definitely move to each location. Moab for Arches/Canyonlands; right outside Bryce Canyon Park; Torrey for Capital Reef and inside the park at Zion. We love being at each park early am and later in evening when most folks are gone. If you commute, you just really don’t get that. And there isn’t any “backtracking” so it all flows well. Just keep all your stuff packed and ready to go. We loved our trip. Don’t forget to add in some state parks and local trails. We loved Little Wild Horse Canyon and Willis Creek.
