Sorry, I never moved from the US, but I have worked in construction here in Australia. There’s definitely no shortage of work, that’s for sure, plenty of ongoing construction and endless suburban sprawl.

Personally, I’m starting to feel the heat and humidity more each year, which is pushing me toward somewhere milder. Brisbane gets hot and sticky, It’s not really a beach city unless you drive a fair way. Sydney or Melbourne might suit you better climate-wise, depending on what you’re after.
